Do you know that paper receipts account for over 20 million threes and 100 billion litres of water used every year? All to make a product that will end up in the trash within the first minute. It's so wasteful that some governments are considering banning them, but giving electronic receipts at checkout is not a simple process either. Not all customers are willing to give personal information to get a receipt and even if they are willing to it's still a pretty clunky process. With Lura we've sought a make it easy for retailers to transition away from paper receipts replacing their receipt printers with mobile software that can convert it to a QR Code for their customers to scan and move on. They don't have to change their current habits, they just have to print the same way they've always done.
