When you consider that Apple had a 12” Macbook (w/ Retina Display) in the lineup 5 years ago the current lineup is a bit disappointing. Also the distinction between the Air and the 13” Macbook is not clear. That said: this is a decent update for a decent laptop and I’m looking forward to what is to come. The rumors re 14” form factor and ARM based Macbooks do sound intriguing. In the meantime I think the recommendation re when to buy a new Mac is as it always has been: when you need one. Don’t wait for a specific update or rumor, otherwise you might have to wait for years in some cases :)

Just bought. Still loving my mid2014 MBP 13" but Apple does not allow the latest Xcode to run on it.

@bigballi That's necessary to build apps for latest iOS, right? I have a 2012.

@justingodesky more than latest iOS. AppStore will soon reject apps built using old Xcode. New Xcode requires Catalina, Catalina requires new Mac (newer than mine).

@justingodesky @bigballi I have a mid-2014 14" mbp and I LOVE IT. You can install Catalina on it tho. However, I know it's time to upgrade :D

Got myself the 16" MBP in January and I don’t regret it when I see this. Not the expected update.

Thank god! I thought my 2013 MBP might have been my last Apple computer. But here we are with the good keyboard and an ACTUAL "escape" key... we're back in action! Only annoying thing is my 2013 MBP is still a total powerhouse and I've no real justification in upgrading.
