When Magic launched in 2015, we had just a phone number. We didn’t know how it was going to work, but our promise was: Text this phone number and we’ll do anything as long as it’s legal. You can still text the Magic number: 83489. We’ve also developed an iOS app and Telegram integration. We’ve released these features months ago to our Magic Pro users. If you ask Google Assistant or Siri to fix your water heater, for example, they’ll just send you a Google search. Magic will find professional contractors in your area, calls them, schedules a time for them to come out, follows up to make sure it happens, and deals with the payment. This is just one example. (The screenshot shown is from my account history. Magic helped me deal with the DMV.) Our assistants behind the scenes are full-time employees, not contractors. We individually train and manage every assistant that works at Magic. Because they are salaried and work for us, they are incentivized to get things done, not to run up the clock.
