Magnify to me looks like taking the simple & effective idea of hellobar to another level. Well done.
Gonzalo Sanchez

It does one thing, and it does it beautifully. Love this kind of products.

Pros:

Super easy to set up.

Cons:

Not that I can see.

Tnx @__tosh for hunting us today! Hey hunters 👋 For a while now I wanted to drive some of the traffic from our main website to time-relevant subpages. It’s cases when we have: - 📝a new blog post - 🌟cool new product feature - 📒a fresh new e-book - 👨‍🏫️an upcoming webinar - 👥a bunch of positions to fill - 📆or an event that’s around the corner. In all these cases I didn’t want to change the website itself. I just wanted an easy way publish… something. 📣That’s why we created Magnify. No design skills needed. It’s kinda like writing a tweet. A new announcement is up in 10 seconds. Give it a try and let me know what you think. We’re very early, so any kind of feedback on the landing page, value prop and the product gets extra ♥️.

@jmarovt love the simplicity on all fronts here. Product. Pricing. Language. P.S. on pricing page — make sure that packages are clickable and lead to sign up flows… you want to sell sell sell there! 🤑
Jakob Marovt
@ksaitor Ah, that's a very good point Raman. Will tweak now, tnx!

A more nifty way of promoting things to website visitors. For me Magnify replaces the traditional top bar and some intercom popups (when I rather want a clear CTA instead of chat)

Pros:

Easy to setup, Minimalistic design with clear CTA

Cons:

Lack of possibility to target pages based on "URL contains"

Gregor Belcec
Hey Joakim - possibility to target pages based on "URL contains" is now live ;) Thanks for this suggestion!
Joakim Green
Awesome work Jakob & Gregor! I find Magnify very useful because of it's speed. I’ve been testing it a bit on our website lately and it's without doubt the fastest way we can drive traffic to different parts of our website without doing an extra deploy. In our case it's perfect to drive traffic to a landing page that explains our product in a general way and the show an industry specific feature (we just wrote about in our Intercom-powered Help Center) via Magnify. Also, we used to promote our open positions via a Intercom chat bubble. But honestly, that actually lack a clear CTA. The whole Magnify widget is a large and clear CTA which does the job much better! Best of all, all this can be done by a marketer. Even the installation via Google Tag Manager can easily be done by a marketer. Keep it up!
Jakob Marovt
@joakimgreen Thanks Joakim. You pitch Magnify better than myself. 🙏
Snow_Crash
Is there a way to test out notification on local env like port 127.0.0.1:8000 ?
Gregor Belcec
@ishaanbhola At the moment you can't use IP directly as "Targeting page", however it is possible to test it in the local environment using e.g. https://ngrok.com/. Once you have ngrok's public URL, you can use the app in the same way as on public sites.
Elizabeth
Nice UX - question though - why use this over @intercom or @drift? @__tosh @jmarovt @gbelcec
Jakob Marovt
@intercom @drift @__tosh @gbelcec @elizabethhunker Thanks Elizabeth! Chat tools can in theory be used for this purpose with a bit of creativity, but that's not their main use-case. I think Magnify with its super minimal use case is a great complement to those tools.
alen cvisic
Product like this always tend to be overcomplicated and clunky, but Magnify is slick, non-intrusive and straightforward. Good job. 🙌
Rob Gill

In the past I have wanted to share links to a SurveyGizmo (in deph surveys with using advanced logic) via our website... Hotjar was a possible solution for this, but it forced us to use their basic survey tools which didn't match our needs. We ended up having to raise dev tickets to create a pop ups and in the end shared the links in articles and on fb/tw which wasn't great. So glad to find magnify to solve this use case. As well as the ablity to share product updates with users and a solution for cookie messages! Very nice product indeed/

Pros:

Simple - solves an issue we had, sharing likes quickly to website users

Cons:

No multi user access/mutli site set up (yet) but i do hear that they're coming soon

Jakob Marovt
Ah, thanks for this Rob. Multi user access coooming!
Mikkel Malmberg

Put Magnify on a few pages as soon as I saw it. Nice little product!

Pros:

Easy to set up and use.

Cons:

None yet.

Cookie content?

Awesome, love the idea here - I've seen this work very well on classic booking and e-commerce sites, love the idea about taking this promotional aspect of marketing to a broader online marketing context.
Jakob Marovt
@rabu81 Tnx! I think (or shall I say hope) it's really widely applicable this one. I think of it as a new marketing channel (besides email marketing, social media marketing). If you have a high traffic website you can now easily steer some traffic from the frontpage to whatever you deem most relevant at the moment (webinar, new blog post, new ebook, etc.).
Sune Theodorsen

Used it to help promote our launch in Paris and it's working out great.

Pros:

Drives traffic, super easy to setup, exciting roadmap

Cons:

None yet

Victor
Very cool and looks slick. Products like this are great because they nudge you to push announcements more frequently due to easy of use. Great work!
Jakob Marovt
@vriparbelli Thanks Victor, that's exactly our goal: lowering friction to updating small bites on your website. Now everyone can do it in 10 seconds.
Andreas Duess
$40/month for a simple pop-up. That feels optimistic to me.
Jakob Marovt
@andreasduess Thanks Andreas, appreciate the feedback. The pricing is a part of the test too ;)
Andreas Duess
@gmail @celine_winchair_gomaz How can you possibly not trust somebody like this. I shall send him the fee so he can send me my inheritance by return mail.
Andreas Duess
@jmarovt especially when I can buy a lifetime license for topbar pro or any number of similar pop-up generators for $26.00 and under.
Simon Sylvest Rasmussen
Will this be the new rockstar in the world of doormats, pop-ups etc? It is likely... Love the idea of simply offering an easy-to-access intro to "company news" - has a nice honest tone to it. Will you be able to show different kinds of information dependent on different kinds of characteristic of the visitor?
Jakob Marovt
@simonsylvest Yeah, currently we made it super simple so no advanced targeting options. But definitely coming. Based on how fast @gbelcec ships, that might be already next week ;) 🚢
Lincoln W Daniel
Beautiful design and animation. I'm using this on Smedian
Jakob Marovt
@lincolnwdaniel Thank you Lincoln!
David
Works great, but has some room for improvement. It looks like you touched on some of these already but my initial feedback: - Let us sign up with an account via email (not google) - Needs more advanced targeting (example: only pages with "word" in URL), geo-targeting, etc. - More control when/how often it pops This is a solution I'd loved to have had during our holiday promotions! I like it much better than the header bar or modal from a design and UI perspective.
Jakob Marovt
@callmedpit Thanks for this feedback David, really appreciate it! 1) Working on it. I agree - we just wanted to push out something simple and fast. 2) Working on it. Coming soon! (Some of it today actually.) 3) Working on it. Coming soon!
David
@jmarovt Any idea on timing for "More control when/how often it pops"?
Jakob Marovt
@callmedpit Hey David. One of your ideas we implemented a few days ago ("Needs more advanced targeting (example: only pages with "word" in URL)"). You can simply use "*" wild card when specifying targeting pages. More advanced targeting coming in the next few weeks ;)
Martin J. Tschammer
Looks useful! Do you have any plans for multiple/custom notification styles?
Jakob Marovt
@mjtschammer Hey Martin, tnx! Current idea is to actually limit the styles as much as possible so you don't have to spend time thinking about it. Just change the text and link and hit save. So in conclusion - might add it, but no plans yet.
Matias Bruhn
Looks super cool and to the point. Nice with these products that does one thing very well! Will try it out!
Jakob Marovt
@matias_samo Thanks Matias. In fact, Magnify does 2 things very well (📣announcements and 🍪cookie consent). Soon also a third one 📹 ;)
