Smart. I've long since encouraged bloggers and product creators to build an email list (that's a HUGE part of Product Hunt). Similarly, event organizers should be doing the same.
P.S. Product Hunt happy hour this Thursday :)
Chimpadeedoo is an app that you load on your iPad at an event; users input their email addresses on a form, and they're stored on your iPad until you synch them to your mailchimp account
I think the event organization space is pretty ripe for technological disruption. I organize comedy shows and the tools available for marketing and IRL analytics are very poor.
wow used chimpadeedoo probably 4-5? years ago at a trade fair. just realised I need to educate more of my peeps about this one - even conference attendees could sign up to speaker/author mailing lists at book signings hmmmm
@eric_seufert@rrhoover@allnick - events / trade shows is somewhere we have been seeing a pull for @geckoform.
I built it to allow people to easily collect data across devices. It works offline using our iOS/Android app, and then when we detect an internet connection it auto syncs.
We also go a few steps further providing CRM integration, analytics, geo location etc, and making the same forms work online (hosted by us, or embedded on your site).
Then the icing on the cake for many of our customers is the ability to automatically email them & the person who filled out the form.
