I've gotten to know Matt and Shaun and they genuinely care about making mental health care more accessible. Really excited to see Maisie launch.

Pros:

I'm enjoying the group aspect. It's nice talking through issues with others who know what I'm going through. And it's affordable.

Cons:

None.

Keep up the great work guys!! 🚀🚀

Hi everyone, It’s been a few months since we launched the first version of Maisie, and we’re incredibly excited to announce that the next iteration of the service is finally here. We’ve moved from a matching product to a marketplace model and have built out our full platform. Now, you can sign up, browse available sessions, and join Circles right from the site. Maisie 2.0 is a huge shift forward from our original product, and we’re excited to bring it to you today. What is group therapy? It’s an effective form of mental health treatment that is evidenced based, affordable, and highly collaborative. People who try it swear by it, and professionals often refer to groups as “therapy's best kept secret.” Today though, these experiences are not easy to find online, which is why we built Maisie. Sessions are a fraction of the price you’d pay for a typical therapy session in San Francisco or New York, and with Maisie you can find and book them right from your device.
Check out the site and let us know what you think! — Shaun + Matthew

Have always found the affordability of mental health care to be an issue. This looks like a very good step in the right direction! Can you elaborate on how you vet the therapists for your platform?
Matthew Kochakian
@mikemahlkow Hey Mike, thanks for the feedback. We vet therapists by meeting with each one individually before working with them.

Love it! Is it currently open in other cities like NYC? Don't really want to sign-up just to browse circles to figure that out.
Shaun Chua
@caseyfulgenzi thanks for the support and yes NYC is part of our plans! we're working hard to bring group therapy circles to NYC and we'll let you know as soon as they're available!
Matthew Kochakian
@caseyfulgenzi no worries! I just connected with you on twitter so we can stay in touch. Def let me know if there's anything specific you would be interested in!

I've been to 1 session so far and can't wait for more!

Pros:

Sessions are well organized & worth it! For those interested in therapy, why not give this low-cost group therapy option a try first?

Cons:

less time to talk to a professional, but i think you can learn a lot by hearing from others!

I love the idea! It seems like a great option for people to really approach the whole mental health topic. I'm wondering: are the different circle sessions structured like a program (that build on one another) or is each session individual (so it's not a problem if I miss a few)?
Matthew Kochakian
@david_nordhausen The former! It's expected that members participate in every session. Missing one might not be a huge deal as long as it's okay with the host, but missing many will get you removed from the group.

Can't wait to see which other problems in the mental-health space you will tackle going forward!

Pros:

I love the ability to join groups targeting very specific problems with people that can relate to it. The pricing is also a huuuge plus!

Cons:

None I can think of.
