There's a somewhat comical thread on Twitter about the like issue: I get why Twitter's injecting one's likes into their followers' feed and they may have data to suggest it's engaging/welcomed by people but it starts to ruin the "contract" and expectations people have with Twitter. I like hundreds of tweets every day, most of which are @mentions to me which I don't think should appear in other peoples' feed.

Someone should reinvent Twitter.
