It's great to see other products that put people first and in control of their experience online. I believe this is a trend that we will continue to see unfold going forward. I hope that Twitter continues to allow developers to build products like this, although I can also see them removing API access if it significantly limits their impressions, reach, or engagement. Great work!
@torbahax thank you lot! We are really glad that you liked it! Also, don't worry, we don't use twitter API at this point. We used it before for training our algorithm, but now it is independent of their API.
Awesome idea -- why not put in a random fact instead of something about the election? Would play right into what made twitter great in the first place....
@willortel thanks! I am afraid that it would cause a little misunderstanding. For example, I don't think that you would like to read how Hillary Clinton writes facts about dolphins :)
@ernopp I doubt anything good will come out of the election. We know Trump and we all know what Hillary did to Middle East, so.. @idarbek great product for the rest of the world. Any plans on publishing for Firefox?
@sekodev@ernopp thank you for feedback! Actually, we are not familiar with creating Firefox extensions, so by the time when we will do it elections will be over :(
Great job! Is it possible to set what text will be shown instead of original tweets? I mean how to change: "This text is about US election 2016" to something else.
@steveraffner the problem is that we already have some other project in our plans, which is not connected to elections. But who knows, maybe we will do it in the future. Anyway, we know whom to contact if we would decide to build it, thanks ;)
This appeals because I'm one of the millions often assumed to be in the U.S just because I speak English, but ignorance of politics enables those ruling over you to get away with even more.
@ianmayman thank you! Yes, politics should not be totally ignored and we don't discourage people to vote. But sometimes politics appear where you didn't expect them to be and it just really annoys most of the people. What we wanted to do is to give people an option to hide it and make their experience in twitter better.
@love2golf totally agree! Most of the tweets about politics are not informative at all and don't help in making decision. That is why we created this extension :)
