Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I’m Jeremy, founder of Mayday. Like many makers here, I created Mayday to help solve a painful problem that I experienced on a daily basis – I was spending too much time managing my time.
Even with all of the tools out there to help me organize my tasks and meetings, no one seemed to have solved the frustration of having to vigilantly manage and protect my time. I was obsessed. There had to be a better way.
🚀 This is why I’m excited to announce that today we’re launching Mayday’s AI Scheduling Co-pilot.
Finding the ideal time for everything you need to do should be easy. Your calendar, task list and scheduling links should understand more about you than your free/busy status and help you plan your day with meaningful context.
Whether you’re scheduling meetings or making time for tasks, Mayday helps streamline your workflow so you don’t have to waste time managing your time.
What does Mayday do?
- 🤹 Combines your calendar, tasks and scheduling links in a single app
- ✨ Uses AI to find the best times to meet with others, so you don’t need to decipher everyone's availability
- ✅ Auto-schedules tasks into your calendar based on your priorities
- 🔄 Reschedules tasks automatically when your priorities shift, or new conflicts arise
- 🛡️ Protects your time when you need to focus (or have a life)
How does it do that?
- 🧠 Mayday learns about your scheduling patterns and preferences based on your usage and preference settings
- 🧑🤝🧑 Mayday works smarter with other and can help you schedule seamlessly with other Mayday users by understanding their unique priorities and preferences
- 🎩 Mayday understands the context in which you are operating, whether it’s for #work, a #specific_project or your #personal life.
Mayday is currently a free tool (in public beta) that lets you connect your Google and Outlook calendars into a single view and powers all of your scheduling needs with AI. Mayday is also native software, built using SwiftUI for Apple devices on macOS, iOS and iPadOS.
Can’t wait to hear what you think!
From Jeremy & The Mayday Team
@jeremybell
Hi Jeremy,
I spent some time (of course not as much as you❗️) and studied the Mayday site.
Your product is perfect for everything: the task list and links help me to plan my day easily. Wireframing is very clear and familiar.
@tornike_tsiramua1 Our goal is to help people achieve schedule/priority fit, so we need to consider everything that affects how you spend time. Meetings + tasks are the building blocks of a typical workday, and any good assistant needs to consider both if they're to effectively help manage your time
@jeremybell Greetings! Please accept our heartfelt congratulations on this wonderful launch! We're excited to witness your project's journey to success. You can count on us as your newest Twitter followers! Just followed!
Thank you @francescod_ales ! I've watched so many of your product reviews and explainer videos, it's surreal to see you peek under the hood of Mayday – and it really helps us see Mayday from the outside in.
Exciting launch in a category that has yet to realize it’s potential!!!
How do you handle scheduling with teams of busy people? I.e. where there’s no immediate free time?
Also curious if managing Outlook + Gcal is on its own a killer feature for some market.
@rajiv_ayyangar We definitely see some of our most active users falling into the camp of folks that just need to manage Outlook and Google together. Funny how Google and Microsoft don't play super nicely together...
Regarding scheduling with teams of busy people - this is best handled when scheduling between groups of Mayday users. With every scheduling request, today our AI assesses the constraints and preferences of each user as it relates to the open time in their schedules. But we're also building machine learning models that can predict how many degrees of freedom each existing event has in each attendees schedule - so in the common case where no empty time aligns across all users, Mayday can suggest the best compromise to shuffle existing events around in order to make space for those impossible meetings.
We are proud early investors in Mayday here at Techstars Toronto. We remain impressed by the product as well as the core team at Mayday who are an incredibly dedicated group and remain committed to their mission of helping people manage their busy work and personal lives.
@kingromstar Lol, you never know! Not sure how to measure emotion yet (although I'm sure there will be a way at some point) but I *can* see a future where your calendar might know whether or not you got a good night's sleep or if you were up in the middle of the night, refreshing your launch dashboard every 5 minutes, for example. 😉
@kingromstar We've actually experimented with pulling heart rate variability, sleep, and exercise patterns from HealthKit, and layering it with schedule data as a means of predicting burnout. I think there's a lot of potential here to use data like this to better understand how people feel and respond to the various things we spend time on
Thanks @jenifer_de_figueiredo 🙏 – let us know what you think when you get a chance to try it out! Would love to know how you think it compares with the Motion experience.
This is amazing! Such a painful problem — such an easy solution. I hate scheduling and managing my calendar and this seems incredibly magical. The fact that all co-workers are "visible" here to the tool is simply amazing!!
@tomorbach thanks for the support! It's nice to hear that we make the solution look easy :) but I truthfully wouldn't wish having to try and manipulate recurrence rules during daylight savings time on an Outlook account for even my worst enemies...
Our goal is to make the painful problem of scheduling as effortless as possible. You define what's important and what you need to make space for and let the machine sort out the rest.
@leon_ostrez Mayday uses AI to understand how to help you spend time more effectively - in meetings with others and solo on tasks. While every other product in the space treats empty space as free space, Mayday works to optimize your productivity by understanding the nuance of what you're trying to schedule along with a structure that works best for you.
@leon_ostrez Our goal with Mayday is to build the smartest and most helpful scheduling assistant. With this release, we've included AI-scheduled tasks, alongside our existing AI-assisted scheduling links. We'll continue adding auto-scheduling features, so you won't need to waste time managing your time.
Congrats on the launch, team! Looks like an awesome tool for those with hectic schedules :D Might be of a great help to sort stuff out and plan the days even better.
@sviridov Thanks for the support Artyom! Mayday helps with hectic schedules but is also very helpful for being intentional with your time, even if your schedule isn't full of meetings. My favourite features are auto-scheduling tasks (based on my priorities) and the 1-click 'Protect' feature for days like today! I don't want to make myself available for appointments so I just tap the protect button on today and it blocks out my day.
Congratulations to and your team on the launch, Jeremy! Instantly recognize it as something I'd be happy to use given I've got reminders and appointments scheduled across different emails, platforms and devices. Just a quick question, your product description only mentioned Mac, Apple - can it be used by Windows though?
@rockyperezz Thanks! No support for Windows yet — Mayday is built using SwiftUI, so it's native software that runs on iOS, macOS, and iPadOS. Windows & Android support will be coming in the future!
@jeremybell Oh, I see. That's a pity I won't be able to give it a try now. Please do let me know when you do! I sent you connection request via LinkedIn - feel free to reach me through there, Jeremy :)
All the success to you and the team!
