The Optimal Path is a podcast about product decision-making, brought to you by Maze. Join Ash Oliver as he speaks with subject experts to uncover the experiences that shaped key decisionsโin projects, products, and personal journeys.
Hey, Product Hunt Community! ๐
Ash Oliver here. Iโm a UX designer and the host of Mazeโs brand-new podcast.
When you use a product, you only experience the shipped version of it. What you don't see are the numerous iterations and countless decisions that led to this "final" result (we all know software is never really finished ๐).
We think there's something truly insightful about exploring the myriad of decisions that led to delivering this end-result. What constraints and questions did the team face? What challenges and tradeoffs were involved? And how did the decisions in these moments drive success?
Today, the team at Maze is delighted to share with you ๐ฅ The Optimal Path ๐
๐ What are we launching?
The Optimal Path is a new podcast, created by and for people working in product today. Each episode brings in a new guestโdesigner, product manager, UX researcher, or subject-matter expertโand explores the ideas, frameworks, and approaches they use to inform product decision-making.
๐ Whoโs on it?
Iโm tremendously excited to host intriguing and inspiring conversations with a diverse range of voices in product. People likeโDavid Hoang, Jeremy Le Van, Brian Lovin, and more, all with insightful perspectives and unique experiences to share.

@ash_oliverrr Thanks for sharing! Please explore product management when you are Pre-PMF. I am really interested in understanding how colleagues have sorted this stage! Thanks!
Soooo cool! B) This is such a nice way to give a credit to creators, and to exchange knowledge, opinions and experience! *_* Congrats on such an idea! It can be so helpful in learning, improvement, gathering experience, and connecting with people! ^_^ May I ask how are you choosing guests? Is it by own parameters, taste, experience, or there is a process of application? :))
hey there @maria_brm! thanks for checking out the podcast! we maintain a thoughtful list of diverse guests we're connecting with, but are always open to suggestions if there are folks you want to hear from (or reach out if you think you've got a topic you'd like to submit yourself for)! There's not a formal application process, but we meet with everyone ahead of time to make sure its a good match ๐
@ash_oliverrr Awesome! *_* Thanks a lot for the answer and explanation! ^_^ Yp, I have an interesting toping on my mind, and I would be glad to speak about it; and/or also to refer on someone from my team after the launch of our product.. ^_^ I am sure the concept would fit nicely, and also provide a lot of knowledge, awareness, and experience to followers.. :))
