Hello product hunt! 👋 Great to meet everyone and thanks @mwseibel for the hunt 😊 @g2graham, @zxela and @derek_zhang, myself and the rest of the fellos at team mello are on a mission to create the new standard that companies use to measure, track and action on wellbeing to inspire happier, healthier and more motivated employees! ⌛ Our Story As founders, we found ourselves burning out big time when we were building our last company. We looked to the market for solutions but couldn’t find anything that was easy, integrated into our workflow and provided us with insights and action we could take. We then found that our customers and partners were struggling with the same thing. That led us to founding mello and wanting to build a simple and seamless way for employees to know how burnt-out they are and take action immediately. As we’re entering the “Great Resignation” turnover is costing American companies nearly $11 billion per year (crazy right?!) and 50% of that is voluntary churn which can be attributed to employee burnout. Companies and employees need solutions now and mello is here to help. ‍💡️ How does mello work? 🏁 Mello checks in with your team weekly through your internal comms tool (I.e. slack, teams, google chats), asking scientifically backed questions (tested with over 10,000 respondents) to assess employee wellbeing + the world’s first burnout index built specifically for tech workers. ➕ At the end of the check-in each employee gets a burnout score, why they have that score but smart nudges on how to improve their wellbeing and workplace happiness. This is where companies can insert their health benefits into mello as well. 📊 On the company side, HR, managers, and c-suite can track how employees are doing on an aggregate and individual level, so they can take data driven action to improve culture and retain employees! Could you share more details on the anonymous check-in feature? What were design principles you kept in mind re: psychological safety? How does it work with the individual level reporting?

@baotri great questions. The design principles we used was really around respecting individual autonomy with anonymity and informed consent. We wanted to give people the agency to choose if they want to disclose the wellness status or to keep it private therefore instilling psychological safety by letting them choose and remain anonymous if they choose to.

I'm noticing a trend among the new YC startups that they are putting "YC-Backed Company" at the top of the page. I don't feel this is a right thing to do. I'm not sure if someone at YC told you to do so. But whoever did it is hurting your company brand and YC brands. I've seen people putting incubator's logo in unexpected areas in the past, and I know how bad that felt with TechStars, SingularityU (I'm GSP15) and 500Startups. It's like saying that YC brand is becoming weaker and we are trying to force on the audience. You might laugh at my comment. But it's something to consider for the YC staff in the future.

Wait this is a pretty awesome launch. Could be a good way for employees to tell their higher-ups how they feel. I remember at Amazon, they had daily surveys like this too although not sure if it translated to any changes since i was only there for an internship. Will look to use this once we grow our company more :)
