@jsmrcaga Hey jo, I'm so sorry about this. Could you go to Settings > Applications > OAuth Apps and revoke access for memo and try to login again. Or send me what console says. I can try to help you.
Hey everyone!
I have been uploading my text based notes to Github one day, not to lose them, then the idea struck!
After few months, and more than few cups of coffees. I finished making Memo App today, and would like to share it with you!
Memo App is a plain note taking app, that syncs your sheets with your own Github gists. 🎈
- You can use it on browser, or download the desktop app.
- Use it offline save your changes, push these changes later when you are online.
- Get insights into every line; like write-good, image and link previews, conversions, calculations and more to come.
- Drop down your text files to import or export your files in markdown with one click!
- And it is open source!
What you shouldn't expect from Memo App? 🤷♂️
- It is plain, really plain, no different font sizes, no italic, not even bold. It is not designed to be a rich editor.
- Not targeted towards average user. You need to login with GitHub and you "push" your changes, or "pull" them like a version control system.
- It is still in beta, so be aware of data loss (even though you can see your revisions) and basic bugs that might irritate you!
I have been using Memo App myself for the last month, and it is a great way to collect your thoughts, ideas. Write down important things you would like to visit later.
Please share your feedback to help me make it better, It is also open source. You can find the repo link on the website.

@nezz Hi Tae, thank you for the comment, how would you implement the preview, if you were doing it. Do you mean, clicking a button should toggle a view to show the md preview, or like other apps, 2 different panes, one is plain text, other is preview? What would you choice be?
@adam_jarvis "GitHub Enterprise Server supports the same powerful API available on GitHub.com"
Well, it looks like just an endpoint switch :) I will add this to my todo list. Thank you for the idea!
?makers Love this! Gists are a much simpler way to store data compared to other note taking apps. Is there a way to "tag" memos, or group/nest multiple memos together?
@jamessm Hey james. I understand the confusion, this app was intended to be more like a notepad with additional powers, like storing them or searching in them. Even I wouldn't personally choose this as a fully fledged app to take my, lets say university class notes.
But I'm sure there is a market for this, or people that would like to use it. Addition to this. I tried to keep it really simple for the first version and not add grouping/tagging, staying in the lines of the app's design philosophy. You can create your own tagging system. Example: Write your tag in the title with parentheses. And search for that string in the search tab, with the parentheses. That would list them all etc.
You can see that there is no bold or font size increments etc, all was intended to be plain text format. Everything else can root from it.
But I will be working on a categry system (App > memos > sheets) you can have multiple memos, memos can have multiple sheets etc.
thank you for checking out.
@jamessm That must be an uncaught JS error. That I'm not sure what it is, if you could open the console cmd + opt + J and tell me what console says. I can fix that for you!
@jamessm All good, thank you so much for even trying if you keep using memo and see it again you can send that to me here or on info@usememo.com
Cheers!
Simple, basic and live saver app. Everything is looks simple. First you start using memo it can be look complex. But don't worry. U learn almost everything in 5 mins. Give a chance to memo, cuz it deserves
OH man! This is exactly what I have been waiting for. I keep a list of terminal commands in a TO DO list for quick copying and pasting. Not anymore. Well done!
@barry_lachapelle Barry thank you for the super comment. Reading this made me so happy. Also that was actually a design choice. I thought that would be expected. But I see that users might just want it to be always open, like Spotify's app. I will get on that thank you for checking out. You can always send me a detailed review on info@buraktokak.com.
Cheers
Looks pretty cool. I am having issues with the "Use in Browser" feature. It gets stuck on the loading screen and gives me this error: "No strings exist for this error type" (I'm on Firefox 71, no ad blockers active).
@zrod Hey rodrigo, thank you for sharing the error message, I think my firefox has that security option disabled, so havent faced that issue while testing. I fixed the issue and deployed a new version. I would love to hear what you think about Memo. Also keep in mind you might need to unregister the service worker or load the page after closing the window for a second time to get rid of the cache.
