Thanks @thaddyhollan ! Our aim is to encourage more people to choose art as a great alternative to photographs in their projects. Whether it’s a poster, blog post, wallpaper or website layout, art is a compelling way to communicate. For artists listing on Mixkit we’re aiming that their work will lead to not just the fulfillment of seeing their art appreciated and used, but ultimately to paying commissions, prints, and sales.
As for us, Mixkit is an experimental new community site from Envato. We’re famous for running one of the largest creative community platforms online where creatives of all stripes sell their work. Our community has earned over $700M since we started in 2006. It’s still very early days for Mixkit, and our first job is to establish the community. After that, we’re confident that as the site grows in popularity, we’ll find opportunities for this new creative community to go from the excitement of exposure to additive new earning opportunities.
