This is great news! A user based tracking system like Mixpanel is essential for startups to understand and manage growth. And this new plan will make it much easier for startups to leverage the power of Mixpanel.

This is awesome! Well done @cassandra_gamm1 @laura_krieger2 and @pranav_kashyap1! I've seen Mixpanel evolve a lot over the last few years so I'm glad new startups will get a chance to leverage the fantastic out-of-the-box reporting available.

👋 I'm Laura, Product Manager at Mixpanel. I'm excited to introduce our all-new Free Plan and Startup Program. Simply put, the way our old plan was set up was no longer right for us and our customers. After months of qualitative and quantitative research, we realized that (1) runway for growth is more important than full access to all the advanced features (2) many product development teams want to "try before they buy" (and have the technical skills to do so). Our new Free Plan is designed for startups who are still finding product-market fit, or more established companies that want to kick the tires. Most importantly, anyone can make a fully informed decision about what’s right for their business. Some highlights of the Free Plan: • Up to 100,000 Monthly Tracked Users, or "MTUs" (i.e. unique end users and all their actions). This represents a 100x increase from our old Free Plan, and based on our research, is more than enough for 90% of customers. • All of Mixpanel’s core reports (Insights, Flows, Retention, Funnels, Explore), plus 5 saved reports per user, per project. • A flavor of some of the advanced features like the Mixpanel modeling layer (e.g., cohorts, custom properties, lookup tables). • All of our data governance features, plus no more cap on data history so customers can show their investors multi-year metrics (we know how important trustworthy data is for startups and their investors). • If you're in your first 2 years with less than $5M in funding, you'll qualify for $50K in Startup Credits—enough for a year of our highest tier (25K MTU) Growth plan, plus any additional data fees should you outgrow your plan in year one. https://mixpanel.com/startups/ At the end of the day, our goal is to grow along with you while providing value at every stage of your lifecycle. I am thrilled by the upgrade. Mixpanel gave us visibility on what our users were doing across our platforms. This has informed our decisions in UI/UX improvements, tracking engagement and raw data export improves our machine learning datasets. Its exciting that we can extend the use of mixpanel as our user base grows. Currently consulting with another startup on mixpanel implementation on their product.

Nice one. Mostly needed in business.
