@ebsalberto this remind me yotaphone which have a good reason to exist: have an ability to use the phone when it almost die - preload map, reding emails/book, etc.. But looks like power banks is a better way to solve this problem ;)
@gjyong529 Never say never. 😊 jailbreak helps (not that I'd build a business that requires an exploit). ...the eBook market feels ripe for disruption. My money is on the librarians. Not joking.
Great product but that huge logo is just upsetting. When I buy a case I'm always looking for something pretty and inconspicuous. It just looks tacky with that. An extruded logo on one of the bevels would be enough.
I've used a Yotaphone for a few weeks. I really loved the idea of having this e-ink screen for very specific occasions like reading articles on Pocket (yay sunlight) or putting a ticket on it. The biggest drawbacks on it were: remanence on the screen (full refresh takes time and occurred every 3 screen refresh) and slow switch between main screen and e-ink one. Do you have any live videos showing how it behaves? And is it water resistant like the iPhone 7? Otherwise, I think having the e-ink screen on a separate case is really great! Looking forward to getting more info 😉
This is a fantastic idea. E-ink is a technology that I think will become more and more useful as eye fatigue catches up heavy screen users. I just never thought about using it in the context of a phone!
@phippuuuu The InkCase can be connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth. Using the InkCase app, you may transfer ebooks and photo to the InkCase. The app will auto sync your data from the iOS native app like reminders, calendars, weather and health to the InkCase.
The InkCase app works with Pocket app, all the articles you have subscribed or added into Pocket app will be synced automatically to the InkCase. Alternatively, you can also use the share button which is available on iPhone's internet browsers to save for reading later. All major news apps such as CNN, Bloomberg, BBC supports the sharing function as well!
Hey! Why did you guys decide to print the "InkCase" logo largely on the case itself? This design feature lost me. I'd be happy to tell everyone I know about my case, so I don't see the pertinence of including it on the design. Good product though.
@prestonattebery Good point~ Thanks for reminding us about this @cedrix we should improve this maybe make it to a color that is closer to the InkCase? A bit like the new Kindle?
@gjyong529@cedrix Personally, I find type logos jarring to see on any physical product. I'd swap the current design in favor of some symbol logo or a much smaller and subtly colored type logo!
@prestonattebery agreed, I've seen several of these before and I was about to pull the trigger until I saw that. The one inside is one thing but the one by the camera is huge. Sorry no deal.
