Moments — A social blogging platform
Moments is a new social blogging platform focusing not on the media but on the story behind. We believe in fair apps and think that the world of social media should not be left solely to the big players harvesting user data for profit.

The idea is very good 👍🏼 But what do you mean when you say "fair apps"? What do you mean by this concept? Interested in your opinion

@diana_sfera With "fair apps" I primarily mean that "free" social apps that rely solely on advertising (like the big ones) have the tendency to consume their users as products - they use "dark" techniques to acquire a lot more data about their users than they should be allowed to. With our product I also want to discuss if this is the right way to go, or if we - in my opinion - should rather live in a world where we honor good apps with small money, but don't pay with our personal life data. I want to address the dark sides of social media by building a "counter-proposal" - a polished social app built around strong privacy and transparency guidelines that does not try to steal the personal data and time from its users. It's a small step, but I think the big networks are currently on their peak and they are beginning to fall, because they are getting more and more regulated due to their bad impact on parts of the society.
@lukey78 Wow this is a very good ideology! But then the next question arises, how to monetize such applications? Sooner or later this need will come, unfortunately 🤭

A moment is a picture, a text, a place and a time, no matter if it is current or many years ago. The text, however, is our focus - because the story behind your photo is what makes a moment special.
We have created a fair platform for all people who don't feel at home on the big social platforms. Moments doesn't want to be a replacement, but a complement.
We do a lot of things differently than the others:
- Our platform rewards good stories. It's not about posting your lunch, but about sharing experiences. Your daily feed is limited to 20 Moments, the "Like" button is not the focus. When you like something, you bookmark it and read it when you have time.
- On Moments, your posts stay visible longer than anywhere else. Just like in your head, important moments don't disappear into insignificance as quickly. With the map as an alternative entry point, you can also explore the world, and read moments that happened in specific places.
- Most of the time, the story behind a picture is much more interesting than the picture itself - that's what we believe, and that's why we designed Moments to bring that very story to the spotlight, both when you're writing and when you're reading.
- We don't do advertising! We don't believe that building the Internet entirely on the pillars of the advertising industry is the correct way forward. Moments is and will remain free - we will find other ways to finance the product. You can already support us with donations. You can find out more on our website.
- We do not generate personality profiles, we do not collect or sell user data, we analyze actions completely anonymously, and we do not use external service providers. We want to be completely transparent in everything we do. That's a promise.

The apps for Android & iOS are currently in open testing. The web app is buing built and will be ready when we go live in June this year.
