This might be exactly what I've been hoping someone would build! @rrhoover and I were recently talking about this. I want a habit tracker that incorporates automatic reminders and a thread of journaling for each habit.
I can't tell from the landing page whether habits get their own journal thread, or if it's more of a note on each checkin. What I'm looking for is snowballing notes, thoughts on a topic, etc to encourage (and make it easier to see) personal growth as opposed to "just" habits. Anyone know?
@rrhoover@staringispolite Thanks Jonathan! You can write notes for specific habits on specific days. Right now they're only visible in today overview, although a separate thread of journaling for each habits has been requested by other people as well. It is easily implemented and I can add that in the next iteration
Cheers!
@staringispolite check out Way of Life. Horrible name, but one of the better habit tracked I've found. Has all the notes stuff you need.

I love the calendar view! I've downloaded it and will give it a try!
I find that a calendar view keeps me on track with what I aim to do better. For instance, calm.com meditation app shows me a similar calendar view after I have done a session of meditation with the app which really encourages me to keep up with my effort. On the other hand, Coach.me's slide-to-check-in motivates me much less. Do anyone else feel the same? Or perhaps it is just me.
Well done anyway, @mathiasmaehlum! :)
@alfred_lua Thanks Alfred! I can definitely relate to what you're saying. Let me know if you have any feature requests or tips for improvements once you've gotten the chance to try it out :)
Looks sleek and I love the mission of this products to help people with their goals, but how it is at different or new to Lift or other habit-tracking apps? I like to use Lift, even though I suck in it (keep forgetting check-ins, forgetting to do my habits, etc.). Is a tough place as well, somehow stuck between organisation (to-do apps) and self-improvement, where people don't really know what to pay for. Lift's new business model with coaching is a good example here, where they focus on self-improvement.
@stanreim Thanks a lot Stan!
I like what Lift was doing in the past and I also think their new coaching model is really clever. It's great for people who’re able to benefit from the extra community support and can draw motivation through the social network aspects of the app.
Personally I don’t get much value in receiving a prop for flossing my teeth three days in a row. I also don’t really find it that useful to read up on for example the Q&A section for exercise on there - I would use more dedicated fitness resources for that (or even Google). I think many people can relate to this...
The social aspects of Lift are really not that useful for people who tend to be more internally motivated. And for those same people the user interface is a lot heavier than it needs to be. You’ll have to dig a little in order to get a clear picture of how you’re actually doing.
Momentum is dead simple. Whether you open the app, or just slide down Today view, you’ll instantly know if you’re on track towards achieving your goals.
It’s this simplicity that sets Momentum apart from other habit trackers as well.
@manavo That shouldn't happen obviously! It works on the iPhones I've tested on. Which device do you have? Good thing I get feedback on here :) I'll ship an update to fix this. Cheers!
