Live events is definitely an interesting use case for the product. That said, I'm not exactly sure how this turns into a monetizable long term business. CO Everywhere has a very similar product offering that has been around a couple years (disclosure: founder is a friend of mine): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/...

@drewmeyers We've definitely checked out CO Everywhere. We like it, but definitely see Momunt as quite a differentiated product. First off the intention of Momunt is to create momunts or albums that are a collection of the best photos you find. Additionally instead of simply grabbing all the photos in an area and ranking them by recency, Momunt employs a much more complex "areas of interest" algorithm. This means that if you're in Vegas at a concert, you'll only see photos of the concert and not everyone in the hotel preparing for a night on the town. Lastly - Momunt allows for the posting of photos instantly in-app so everyone can grab everyone else's photos from the concert without going through an outside network.

@ryansheffer "Lastly - Momunt allows for the posting of photos instantly in-app so everyone can grab everyone else's photos from the concert without going through an outside network." Right, but they still have to have momunt to do that, which is a hurdle by itself. Like I said, interesting product for sure. Yet to be proved as a business. I'd ask the same question the judge asked.. where is the proof that people care about location specific photos that don't have their friends in them?
Ryan Sheffer
@drewmeyers we definitely have an uphill battle to convince people to take photos within the app :). But when it comes to location based imagery - the news and sports are two examples that rarely have our friends in the pictures. The place this Momunt is from is only a square in Paris, until a tragedy happened that united people. http://www.momunt.com/gVNtijfFy1

@ryansheffer Yes, agree about news and sports being use cases. But that said, those are hard scenarios to monetize since they are pure entertainment. How do you reach the right people at the right time and prompt them to look at your app? You need incredible scale to make advertising work. Best of luck.

There's so much to love about this product. My favorite feature though is finding a place in the world, dropping my finger on the map and then being teleported. Momunt will pull-up pictures being shared from that location right now.

I like Momunt because it helps build a story beyond just your own pictures. I think there's a lot of opportunity to build photo collages from friends, acquaintances, and even strangers when the photos resonate with you. Great app guys!

@startupjoshua Thanks for the kind words! We really believe in the power of sharing multiple photos to tell a story. Whether it's a personal event or something global like the recent Russian protests, Momunt offers a quick and easy way to publish the story to the world.

We're really excited to have launched on Monday at the LAUNCH Festival. Feel free to ask any questions about Momunt. It offers a unique way to see all the photos being shared around your location or any location around the world.

@ryansheffer love the concept! Been thinking about this idea for awhile. Where are you getting the photos from? And what's your typical use case?
Ryan Sheffer
@vivekmgeorge Glad you like the concept! We're sourcing from public Twitter and Instagram images as well as photos added via the camera in our app. We have two core use cases. The first is looking at the photos being shared near you - maybe a concert, a wedding, or a party. The second is using our map to travel to places you find interesting. You could travel to your hometown or maybe the stadium of your favorite football team during a game.

Fantastic design by this two person team -- make sure you flip a photo to find the map Easter egg!
Ryan Sheffer
@jason Thank you! We're working hard everyday to make it better and better.
