We have pre-trained models that work with specific topics or you can train a custom model to work with the topics (tags) you define. You can find more information on custom classifiers here: http://help.monkeylearn.com/text...
There is not a recommended text length as it depends on the particular use case. For example, we have customers analyzing really short texts (e.g. 1 short line from an NPS response) and other customers analyzing much longer texts (e.g. multi-paragraph product reviews). What use case do you have in mind?
