Sharing something really cool from X, the moonshot factory (formerly Google X): the Taara Chip.
You might have heard of X's Project Taara, which used large, mechanically steered units to transmit data over long distances. This chip is the next generation of that technology.
It's a huge step towards a future where high-speed internet is delivered without cables – using beams of light!
The long-term vision is amazing: mesh networks of these chips providing internet access in underserved areas, faster data centers, communication for autonomous vehicles – even potentially forming the basis of 7G!
While the next Taara product using this chip isn't coming until 2026, they're inviting researchers and innovators to get in touch.
