Lost me at microwave.
Grab any healthy vegetable and nuke it (microwave), barbecue it or deep fry it and you lost healthy.
Sorry, but you should add oven options and advertise in your homepage.
@androidlove Hey Carlos! Thanks for your comment. I know that microwaves have a lot of stigma, but one of the best-kept secrets of home cooking is that microwaves can actually help preserve nutrients by heating food faster — not the opposite! Check out the following bits from Harvard and the NYT for more info. https://www.health.harvard.edu/s...https://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/...
That said, our food can also be cooked in the oven if you transfer it to oven-safe packaging :)
Hope that helps!!
@christopher_lee4 Thanks so much! We're currently only serving in the US, but hope to be able to ship to Canada soon and will definitely let you know when we do.
Got 4 meals. Tried 1 so far the beet orzo. Not good. 1-10 it gets a 3 or so. I expected better than this. I hope the others are better and will post after I try them.
I actually think their meals are quite tasty. Just ordered my second delivery. I let the meals defrost in the fridge then heat in oven or microwave in a dish as I am not a fan of the plastic that is embedded inside the paper boxes of each meal. I would love if they came up with packaging that did not have plastic inside the box itself. I emailed customer service about this and they responded the plastic is microwave safe- but in the long run even microwave safe plastic is not healthy if you are eating heating up a meal daily with it. So will see if I continue my subscription as it does take a bit more effort to allow meals to defrost then transfer to another bowl to heat- and I am looking for easy and healthy! There are other frozen meal services that offer meals that are in pure paper boxes which seems ideal.
