"The perfect compliment to a keyboard and mouse is this all-purpose knob from Griffin. The PowerMate first showed up as a USB-tethered Apple accessory years ago—this is the Bluetooth version. You can program it to do anything: scroll Safari, switch desktops, scrub a video timeline. I have it set to adjust my Mac's master volume, because there's no more satisfying feeling than twisting a heavy, polished-metal knob when Van Halen's 'Panama" kicks in.'" — Michael Calore
Note: It looks like it has some low ratings from months ago, but that they've addressed the related issues. Has anyone tried it?
I fail to see what it adds compared to a mouse, except the feeling... and I have to say the Van Halen example is pretty on-point to convey that!
I wouldn't buy it, but I'm very wary of buying physical products in the first place anyway.
@thibautdavoult The mouse doesn't handle long linear very well. As the size goes up, the size of the stroke goes up or the accuracy goes down. With a wheel, the physical size of the movement is the same, accuracy can be the same. Think video editing, long scrolls etc.
