@lylemckeany I should write up what I found when I did a review of what apps are out there. There's really no perfect app for what I'm looking for - a way to hum & beatbox my song ideas into a layered looping app, while on the go. The closest thing is a paid app called Loopy (and Loopy HD for iPad).

Very awesome that they decided to get more involved in the music creation space. I've been playing around with the app the past few days and it's slick. Now to figure out who I need to talk to at Apple to get Clyp as an export option so I don't have to share my mediocre ideas on my YouTube or Soundcloud account ;)

Speaking as someone who plays a few instruments and uses his phone to record snippets of song ideas all the time, this is incredibly awesome. I only wish I could transfer all my old "voice" memos over to where they now belong.

@whittierthany0u Exactly! I have so many old ideas and small recordings that just hit me at 2am and I quickly record them. This app takes it to the next level. It would be great to have support for older recordings and voice memos.

This is awesome. Up till now I've used Voice Memos for this, which doesn't let you organise your recordings into separate projects and generally isn't geared towards music. This is one of the first apps in a while that I've moved straight onto my home screen.

Amazing app. I was using the microphone to records song ideas, it was such a mess. That's exactly what I was looking for. As a guitar player, sometimes I play chords I don't know, perfect to have the app keeping track of it. And this intelligent backing drums works so well.

You can have fun with it even without a guitar! I just recorded me talking and added bass and drums and it sounds pretty ridiculous/fun. Wish it had an autotune too :D

As a musician who's constantly humming song ideas into my Voice Memo app when creativity strikes (often while walking around NYC), I LOVE the fact that auto-detection of chords (assuming you have accurate vocal pitch) and auto accompaniment also work with humming melodies!
