You’ve fixed all those niggly bugs and edge cases, pushed to prod, and now you’re ready for the whole world to see your product. But you forgot something, didn’t you? You forgot it because it brings you no joy, because it is monotonous, because it’s tedious. You forgot to write your docs. We’re with you, writing them, keeping them up to date, it’s a pain, but you know if you don’t write them people are going to ask questions and YOU are the one who will have to answer. And that’ll involve talking to… people… So we built a free little product to help you out - Shots2Docs 📸 ➡️ 📄 Here’s how it works:
  1. Upload screenshots of your product: dashboard, settings, analytics, whatever.
  2. We’ll use a little bit of magic to turn your screenshots into documentation.
  3. Copy and paste the output directly into your docs.
  4. You show everyone your smug face.
It’s completely free to use, no sign-up required. You can use it to:
  • Create docs for a new product
  • Create or update docs for a new feature
  • Create docs from a screenshot of some wireframes Any and all feedback welcome, would love to know how you use it! Mike + Alex.

Great work Mike!! This makes it so easy to take care of an important feature, that we all know is not normally our favorite thing to work lol. Saves a bunch of time for those v1's

@z32danny Exactly what we were going for, thanks Danny!

I love the concept and the flawless execution of it! I also appreciate your approach to 'immerse' the user on the go – excellent UI/UX. One thing I'd add is the ability to include some context, for example, 'Explain what your app is about,' so that the generated text is more accurate.

@kotogavr Thanks Ann! We thought about this one, but wanted to make it a "one click" process. Have added to our to-do list to experiment with.

Nice work. Two thoughts on that: 1. If I upload screenshot that contains German texts the generated documentation should be in German as well. 2. I don't know if we would use it as supposed. I would find it way more beneficial if it's part of the chat in that that I can just upload screenshots as content. I don't need the results directly, I just want the screenshots to be part of my training content.

@btmval language selection is a good idea! Ah, interesting idea on image upload, would you want to see how it translated the image into text though I assume?
    Valentin Uhrmeister
@michael_heap hmm … didn't thought this through. It depends on how accurate it is. Ideally I would want to rely that screenshots are interpreted correctly, but maybe that's not sufficient.
    Mike Heap
@btmval ha yeah, not as simple as it sounds right!
    Olly Meakings
This is REALLY smart. Congratulations on the launch @michael_heap. A clever application of AI and I like the before and after shots on your landing page.
    Mike Heap
@helloitsolly Thanks Olly! Hopefully a simple application to get people started with their docs.
