Featured

Helvetica® Now is a new chapter in the story of perhaps the best-known typeface of all time. Available in three optical sizes - Micro, Text, and Display - every character in Helvetica Now has been redrawn and refit; with a variety of useful alternates added.

So much hype...

Would be nice to see more realistic examples of this being used in actual context rather than the cool and glitzy but impractical examples in the marketing content. Also, a clearer breakdown of the differences between this and the previous Helvetica would be helpful too.

And the difference?

That F. Overall, nay.

I would love to see the overlays of the new and old forms.

@johnbhiggins The extended video has sort of a comparison https://youtu.be/2q4G5rhbIUM?t=320

No Cyrillic font support. Not good.

Did not expect this, it looks good though!

Cool landing page! Is there no support for Greek though? I only see 4 Greek characters (those used in math equations) and nothing else. No Cyrillic either?

I’m not a designer really, but I have a feeling that Monotype is a bit too late with this. Whoever wanted to use a "better" version of Helvetica have already adopted Neue Haas Grotesk. Micro is good though.
Jeff Wall
@paul_danyliuk And a self-hosted unlimited/perpetual web license of Neue Haas Grotesk is only $377,000 for a savings of $63,000!
Paul Danyliuk
@jeffjwall for the likes of Bloomberg that doesn’t seem to be a problem :) But yeah, NHG is hella expensive even for non-perpetual licenses. It looks so perfect tho…

What fresh hell is this? I mean, the uppercase R and G (for example) are THE reason I use Helevtica (Neue) – If I wanted something like the alternate versions, there are dozens of fonts already there. And frankly, the alternatives of lower-case f and r shown at some point look ugly as sin – the r appears to be a different weight than the rest of the word, and the f seems to throw off the kerning (the other big reason Helvetica (Neue) is used).
