Namecheap has made hundreds of thousands of premium domains available to purchase via no reserve auctions. There is a bidding API, as well as the ability to export all the domains at auction and view them alongside detailed metrics about each asset.
I'd be curious to know more about where the domains are coming from that are listed for auction. They seem to all be registered domains. Are they ones that lapsed and are available via a different auction, or did Namecheap strike deals with brokers that are willing to take any offer of at least $15?
Thank you for hunting this, @maccaw!
Welcome to the beta launch of Namecheap Auctions. We have spent a long time thinking about how we can build a domain auctions platform that is accessible to everyone, not simply large domain investors. Our goal is to surface inventory that will help builders with naming their projects, businesses, and non-profits without breaking the bank.
We still have a lot of work to do on this platform but I'd love to hear your feedback. Please also let us know if you're able to find a name and what you plan to build on it!
