We invested in Narrator a year ago because of their ability to provide a true self-service analytics solution with quality and speed that both data teams and stakeholders could use in tandem. Narrator's new "Analyze Button" is their next step and a breakthrough self-service data analysis tool. Basically, you pick a metric you're trying to improve and something that you think might affect it and Narrator will generate a comprehensive analysis instantly. It automates manual steps like checking for statistical significance, consistency, and impact, all while presenting the data in a way where anyone in your org can understand the underlying takeaways and clear recommendations. I'll let Ahmed, (CEO) tell the story below.
Arpit Choudhury
This is really cool, congrats to the team!
Cedric Dussud
Thanks Arpit! It's been something we've wanted to do for years :)
Dawa Lama Sherpa
Looks great. Excited to take this feature for a spin.

Congrats on the release @ahmed_elsamadisi. Who are the ideal users for this product? All businesses, broadly? Or do you see a specific subset of customers getting particularly high value out of this?
Ahmed Elsamadisi
@ahmed_elsamadisi @vantoai Narrator has had great traction with the following: Growth Teams - They deal with data across multiple systems (email, marketing, sales, product) and answering questions quickly is vital Customer Success - They are staring at the customer journey all day in Narrator. As customer complain about things that bother them, the support team is able to see if that problem impacts churn or NPS score and can properly escalate the issues that matter Sales Team - Sales is always optimizing but they do it by trial and error. Even thought companies have a wealth of data. With Narrator they go from testing things with their small sample of leads and spending months, to seeing it with the companies entire dataset Product Team - Product is critical and at some point doing amplitude is not enough and Looker/Dashboards are too restrictive. You need accurate data that your data team validated, and the ability to ask and answer anything. This is when Narrator comes in. Data is happy and product can go back to optimizing the customer experience. Does that help clarify the common users and use-cases?

Super interesting! Does it let you know when there's insufficient data / too much noise? How meta-aware is it?
Ahmed Elsamadisi
@rajiv_ayyangar Yes! We actually do a lot to ensure the recommendations are meaningful and accurate. 1. It looks initially for trends in your base line KPI. Any major changes will be grouped so it only uses the most recent longest trend. This filters any weird data because your product and customer has changed over time. 2. When it clusters the data it chooses clusters that make the most sense. High impact, enough volume and less to change. 3. Then it checks for significance to ensure that the difference is actually worth exploring. 4. Then it checks for how reliable this feature has been over time. Has the difference been consistent. This is critical because we see feature that were super impactful go to not mattering. 5. It looks into what the lift would be to the KPI if you were to move the customers from one behavior to the other. Using relative difference to ensure it is realistic. When you combine all the above, with clear explanation in text, visualizations of your data and the ability to see sample customer journeys, you get a wholistic view. Finally, We rerun all of this every week and will email you if any of the results change. Imagine the feature you found to be impactful a year ago, stops helping and starts hurting your KPI, you will get that email and you can see the exact analysis that has figured it out. At the end, seeing is believing so happy to show you this live with any question you have :)

Have you seen this, @jake_lambert7? Great job, team!

Hello Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the co-founder and CEO of Narrator. We launched Narrator last year to provide true self-service analytics to organizations of all shapes and sizes. With today's launch of our "Analyze Button", we're excited to officially enable Narrator users to go from question to data-driven decision in under 10 minutes. It was important to us that this automated analysis follows the same approach as a human analyst. It should have a specific recommendation, be easy to understand, and start from a real question. It should work across any data and should be quick to configure and use. There's been a major shift in the data world from dashboards to analyses. Dashboards are great for kpis, but can be easily misinterpreted leading to poorly informed decisions and wasted resources all under the guise of "data-driven decision making". The problem is, building an analysis with statistical rigor that's also easy for anyone on your team to understand requires too much time and expertise to be worth it for every question. This is why we built the "Analyze Button". So anyone can evaluate their hypotheses instantly to make the most informed decision. More importantly, it takes no more than an hour or two to go from connecting your warehouse to generating your first analysis. Looking forward to your thoughts, questions, and feedback! Let us know what you think in the comments below. Ahmed

@ahmed_elsamadisi very interested in seeing the types of questions that can be asked. would love to see this in action.
Ahmed Elsamadisi
@ahmed_elsamadisi @jennifer_li3 Companies have optimized the best product for a customer to buy first, the value of any A/B test, the best landing page to maximize leads, the best time of day to call a customer, the impact of coupon code to repurchase, the email that gets people to come back after they have been dormant for a while and so much more. The best way for you and anyone to experience it, is to book a demo. In the demo, we can go through any question that you would have asked in your past or want to ask. In just 5 minutes, you will see how that question becomes a detailed analysis in a story format with clear recommendations. If you ask a question that I personally cannot answer then you can have the product for free. (conditioned that the data exists)
Jennifer Li
@ahmed_elsamadisi Interested! Where do i sign up for a demo?
Ahmed Elsamadisi
@ahmed_elsamadisi @jennifer_li3 The website is the best place. If you actually use the demo link in the Customer 360 page then the demo will be with me :)
Danny Cohen
This looks great, I’m excited to try it out. Will the button be there for datasets that are already created or will you have to recreate them?
Ahmed Elsamadisi
@dannyjcohen it will work for any existing dataset as well as new ones!
Conner Swenberg
This is crazy impressive. The sample analyses on the demo account shows the level of rigor and depth they've encoded into the system. This is not your basic "oh this thing made this other thing go up!". Would highly recommend others try the product for yourself; it will blow your mind how much better this is compared to a dashboard.
Ahmed Elsamadisi
@conner thanks connor! I am glad you see the value. We pride ourselves in helping our customers make the best decision so this rigor is why so many of the recommendations Narrator makes have a positive impact on the bottom line
Gabe Horwitz
We are users of Narrator and the product really helps simplify the ETL process. The team is awesome as well and this is a great addition to the product!
Cedric Dussud
@gabe_horwitz Thanks a ton Gabe! As always we appreciate the support.
Кирилл Пушкин
Looks pretty useful, what about demo/trial?
Matt Star
@kirillpushkin yes we have a proof of concept so you can demo Narrator using your data. It's super easy, takes only one session to set up. If you book a demo through our website we can get that started!
