Nice refresh of Nest:
This year, they also released a smoke sensor and security camera. What device will Google-backed Nest create next? A Siri/Echo-like voice-controlled assistant to compete with Apple and Amazon?
Nest has finally released this much needed refresh. I like the higher quality screen and the (slightly) updated UI. The light when walk by feature is also a good feature. Excited to see what else Nest will release in the coming years.
Have had my Nest for about 3 months now and love it. Not sure if it's worth the upgrade? Any details on the energy saving side? This is what will make me want to upgrade.
@joedandachli I wouldn't worry about upgrading. I've had my 2nd gen for just over a year now and was wondering the same thing. After looking at the 3rd-gen improvements, I'd say it's an incremental update. The UI updates *should* be updated over the air to the 2nd gen units, and maybe the 1st gen units, as well.
