Very cool! Can I ask how the mapping works? Didn't get a code in time to try it myself haha

Interested to hear why you didn't make a mobile version? Seems like a better way to go instead of carrying your computer all over the building.
Paul Johnson
@joshuapinter we are working on it. It's not easy to get an access to Wi-Fi in iOS, however, we are going to deliver iOS version with the help of our partners! Stay tuned!

Does Wifiner allow you to check strength of networks you're not connected to? I live in an apartment complex and would love to see where interference from other networks is affecting my network. Didn't get a code in time to try it out for myself, but this app looks super slick and helpful!

@raptblue According to App Store Developer guidelines, Wifiner cannot have full access to the required Wi-Fi Framework it relies on, thus being able to scan only one wireless network at a time. There’s a slight possibility that Apple may alleviate this restriction some time.
However, if you need to scan more than one network and shall benefit with more features, we advise you to try NetSpot - https://www.netspotapp.com

I loved using Netspot. Would love to test out Wifiner! Bummer I'm too late for the free App Store codes....

I’m not sure if this is related, but is there anyway to use this (or something like it) to find out which devices are sucking up all the data? I’m traveling and these Airbnb’s come with limited WiFi so I keep buying more, but it will run through over 10gb in a day without me downloading or streaming anything. So I want to find the culprit somehow.

@lolatesla unfortunately, we don't have this feature, but with the help of our heatmaps, we can show you the best places in your area where you can enjoy your internet connection.

Bummer! Too late for a code! Interesting concept though! Would love to test it!

@paul_johnson2 Have just had our office wifi upgraded with "smart(er)" routers, but still think we can do some more diagnostics / optimizing, and also looking at analyzing my house, mix of old Amsterdam room walls with thick concrete makes for strange behavior haha. Will send a mail as well shortly!

@walsh_ldn Thank you for your comments, James!

This works as promised! I suspected a blindspot in my appartement and it turned out to be absolutely true! Now I can start fixing it by trying different router placements and settings. Well done!

Pros:

Intuitive and effetcive

Cons:

Can take a little bit of time and you'll need a good map
