@patrick_udeh that's a great question. These really don't do the same jobs as Pikazo at all - we let anyone change the subject of an artistic image to make it their own production-quality, print-ready artwork that they can be proud of.
This lets you send a more fun picture, to get the recipient to open the app and see another ad. and the job stops there.
We're definitely in a different aisle in that sense.
I mean, I did watch @Mazzeo as a Panda for one of his Product Jams on FB LIVE.... now Facebook are rolling out the new camera!
Just in time for the holidays...
The MSQRD acquisition is coming through!
Messenger seems to be more of a competitor to SC than IG Stories. Though I am not an regular SC user (I use Messenger more actually) I just wonder if there is something about SC that makes it unique, and that goes way beyond the features.
I think there is, but it's a discussion beyond the scope of the comments. This new Messenger camera will make it more fun to talk to friends and express yourself for sure, increasing engagement.
Awesome. I was just wondering when would Facebook drop something they got out of MSQRD.
Also, just yesterday I was reading a report on how a big chunk of Snapchat users would switch to Instagram if it had filters. I think it does make more sense that it's messenger implementing it.
Facebook/Instagram's aggressiveness on launching products to keep pushing SnapChat down is insane... I wonder if we should start calling FB big blue instead of IBM finally. 🤔
This will definitely be my incentive to fully leave Snapchat. Stories on Instagram has better discover of content. Messenger camera is leveraging my, already established, contacts.
@safaiyeh I don't think so. Millions of people open Snapchat camera to transform to a dog. Messenger need a better dog face to kill it. (Ok, just kidding, but partly true 😹)
@illya_bakurov do you think what Instagram did to photos (filters, boomerang) will be the next step for live video? The application of filters as well as ability to boomerang the live video?
@mannyorduna Very interesting thought on boomeranging the live video, however I see it challenging to properly implement with live video, so it would make sense. However, I believe that filters in live videos will be next move, yes. So that when you have a live video, you could change filters or apply watermarks. It could be a good advertisement revenue for those who has many followers and many watchers on their live-videos.
@dandigangi That's why, yes. I don't like Facebook because of this. They cut all sources of competition, and they are integrating all popular features from all other platforms with the speed of light, just because they have resources, but they don't consider buying companies or technologies.
@illya_bakurov Understandable though to be honest. From a business perspective I mean. They can stretch their resources so far that the need to squash competitors versus acquire makes a lot of sense for them.
@dandigangi Absolutely agree with you! If I were them, that's how I would act. The only thing I am not happy is that those breakthroughs coming not from them. It's sad, that long way small start-ups should go through to make those features popular, disappears the first minute Facebook announces the same features.
