We're rethinking sharing. Each visit to new.space creates an entirely new, blank space for your files, photos, links, and more. No account or setup needed. Everything shared into a space is end-to-end encrypted.

Greetings PH! This is the first product released from the team at Shareup, and we are nervous, excited and honestly a bit humbled 🙇 to share with you the open beta of new.space. What is new.space? I'm glad you asked! Let's get into it! Flexible, fast & private sharing Those are a bunch of words…so let's look at each. Let's start with the last word first. Sharing. We built new.space to remove barriers between sharing to people and your other devices. All you need is the space link. No account or setup is needed to start privately sharing your content instantly. 🧘‍♀️ Flexible - new.space is designed to make it possible to share anything with anyone. You can add links, photos, links of photos, videos, anything really. You shouldn't have to think about "what is the best way for me to group and send this stuff?", nor should you have to waste time configuring things up front. Just create a new.space and get rolling! 🐇 Fast - To create your first space, just head to new.space! There isn't anything to configure or set up – it's there instantly when you visit new.space. Sharing is pretty darn quick too. Just scan the QR code of a space to open it on another device or send the URL to someone to give them access. ⚡ Private - new.space is crafted from the ground up to be privacy-preserving. Everything shared into a space is end-to-end encrypted, meaning the contents of a space are only viewable to you and those with whom you share the space. We'd love to get your thoughts and feedback on new.space. Share some photos, use it as a quick place to collect stuff from a meeting, move things between devices, or send something that needs an extra layer of privacy. Let us know how it goes! What's next? We are building tools that give people control over how they collect, send, and share things without barriers created by operating systems, filetypes, platforms or devices. We have a community Substack where we provide product updates and share early access to the things we are building (iOS TestFlight 📱 is coming soon!). Come by and say 'hullo'. Till next time, happy sharing!

It’s so exciting to see new.space available as a public beta 💪 and to see the entire team’s hard work out in the world. This first version of new.space is great for quickly sending content to people and devices. Each visit creates an entirely new, blank space for your files, photos, links, and more. No account or setup needed. All end-to-end encrypted. 🔒 As a team, we make a new space every week for our Zoom meetings to have a visual shared space to throw in links, files, and react with emojis as we chat together. It’s fun to see everyone’s ideas, funny images, and links to articles, docs, and more show up instantly. And when I’m out taking photos with friends, I love to create a space to collect our favorite photos and the links to social posts where we share our photos like Instagram or glass.photo all in one place. I don’t have to worry if they are on Android, iOS, Windows, whatever – every device is welcome. I’d love to hear about your use cases and how we can make new.space even better for you 🤘 Let us know here what you think and follow along as we build toward 1.0 at shareup.world.

@benjaminmateev thank you Benjamin 🙇

This is really cool! Like a scratch-pad but online.
Nathan Herald
@sentry_co thank you André. And let us know if there is any way new.space could be even better for you 💪
André J
@myobie I think its perfect. Might be cool to have like a cold-storage resurrection feature? Like sometimes you work one something and then you toss it. And then suddenly you need it again to iterate with your weekend warriors on it again.
Nathan Herald
@sentry_co that's a great idea. I've put a direct link to your comment in our team's space for today and we will include your feedback in our discussions about what's next 🙇
Joel Tankard
This is exactly what I need when I’m working across my Mac & Windows! 🤯 Also, love the UI!
Anthony
@joel_tankard Thanks a lot! This was definitely one of the problems we were trying to solve. Quick sharing and collaboration between different platforms was painful for us, too, before we built https://new.space. Let us know at https://shareup.world if there’s anything else we can do to help improve your workflow.
Adam
@joel_tankard Ya, as a person with Windows/Mac/iPad/Android, the tool saves me so much time. Thanks for the kind words!

This product seems impressive! I'd like to use it for sharing files, similar to what I usually do with Google Drive. Unlike Google, which tends to monitor everything, this provides a promising alternative. I do have a question: If I don’t have to create an account and continue sharing extensively, I assume each session generates a new link. How can I effectively keep track of all the items I've shared and the associated links?
Adam
@daniel_sudhindaran1 Hey Daniel, first off thanks for the kind words. We are working hard to add the ability for anyone to sign up for a free account, which would allow you to collect, save and organize your spaces. This feature will ship with our upcoming iOS app beta and will make its way to new.space soon after. Thanks again for trying it out and providing us with feedback. It is super valuable!
Mikael Larsen
What a great tool! Will for sure use this instead of WeTransfer future on. 😃 Hopefully it also keeps being free for basic features at least. What could be cool is a 5$ plan where you can add your own custom domain and logo + background / customize colors. Would definitly subscribe aslong as it wouldn't be too expensive!
Nathan Herald
@mikaellarsen Mikael thank you, we appreciate your feedback 🙇 I've added your comment to our internal team notes about pricing 💪 Customization is for sure something we talk about often. Is your use case to share a space with clients, or something else?
Mikael Larsen
@myobie Yes it would be to share with clients, internal and just on personal basis. Mostly with clients, and then it would be great to have the ability to add our logo, our own background/customize the colors and maybe able to use our own custom domain like "files.ourdomain.com" Currently we use FileMail and WeTransfer - but it is something about that we don't want it too expensive as there is so many compettitors out there. I believe an pricing of 5$ would bring many new paid users but also not be too expensive for people to have as an tool to share assets.
Nathan Herald
@mikaellarsen OK, makes perfect sense, and thank you again for sharing your use case with us. I've captured this in our notes and we will be discussing it as we work toward our 1.0 version 💪
Dunia
Congratulations on the launch. The interface looks very neat. I love that you've included the option to set up different spaces for file sharing. So, are these spaces meant to be like use-and-discard? I use it and then don't have to worry because it'll be gone in 14 days. Maybe in the future, we could choose how many days we want the space to remain active?
Adam
@duniachap Hi Dunia, thank you so much for the kind words and taking the time to comment. We've envisioned https://new.space to be that tool that will grow with any project, meeting or plan. In order to have that frictionless start to any new thing, we don't require the use of an account to just immediately get up-and-running. To answer your question: we absolutely want to allow spaces to auto-cleanup at different intervals or stay around forever. In a future update we'll add the ability to tie spaces to an account, with which a user can configure things to fit the need they have. We think having a product-tier "below free" is valuable for people now, so we decided to release the beta ahead of the accounts update.
Andrew Brodsky
This is an AMAZING new service. This makes communicating with documents, links, pictures sooooooo fast and simple. I wish I knew about this when my eldery father was in the hospital. It would have made managing his care so much easier.
Nathan Herald
@andrew_brodsky Thank you so much, Andrew. We appreciate your kind words.
elisa m
This is really cool! The UI is very intuitive, fast and easy to use. Being private is definitely a great deal, especially if I compare it to WeTransfer (I'm actually not sure if it's also end-to-end encrypted but it never felt like it is). The only thing that I'm not sure about is how to easily collect or find the links to the different spaces I've created. Do you have a plan or ideas of how to solve this?
Nathan Herald
@elisa_m2 elisa m, thank you for your kind feedback 🙇 We agree and have a plan. We are working hard to complete and ship the ability for anyone to sign up for a free account to collect and organize all their spaces. 💪 This will ship with our upcoming 📱 iOS app beta launch and will be added to new.space soon after. Then anyone will be able to sign into new.space with their email, see all their spaces right there anytime, and do a bunch of other cool stuff we’ll talk about later.
