While a good looking app and I get the AI side of it, the issue is you are collecting news from various sources, all of which I believe you have little control over as a user. And so I am probably going to get news stories from sources that I am not interested in or have differing political views to me. This is why news sites like Feedly are more successful because you can add the news you want, and not the stuff you don't want. It is okay to say "well you can subscribe to local, national, sport" etc, but people want interest-based news that is specific to their needs and not a broad spectrum of topics in their area, that can be biased or overwhelming with topics they have no interest in. I think there is a big gap in the market for a News app, but taking it from multiple sources and clumping it all together in a mish-mash as a default feed is the wrong market. It needs to be an actual news app, creating news stories to target an audience rather than a one-size-fits-all that people may not have an interest in, that is a rehash of news sources they may not agree with or like, that has been mashed up by AI to make it look fresh.

@exopaul We really appreciate your comment, Paul! 🙏 What we're doing differently here is that, as a user, you do have control over which sources you get your news from. While we're not completely hiding seemingly irrelevant sources, to avoid the "filter bubble", your personalized timelines will only give you news stories from the sources you have selected. Furthermore, the system learns over time what you're interested in and gradually improves your news recommendations—which of course will reduce the amount of irrelevant content.

@exopaul Thank you very much Paul, for your opinion and your feedback! 🙏 At Newsadoo we are combining a personalized news feed (self-learning timeline based on interests of users supported by our AI, as my colleague Alexander pointed out) and top news from your country, as well as different opinions on a topic. Users can choose to investigate various viewpoints concerning an event – and hence, can break out of their filter bubble. 🙂

@exopaul This becomes more apparent when you are a non-American non-European audience. Most of the news apps get a hoard of US- and European- centric sources making the content far away from relevance. That's where applications like Feedly become so valuable.

Hey, I'm Anna from Newsadoo! We are currently trying to improve our product experience and are looking for feedback! We would love to hear what you have to say. What's Newsadoo about? We are a 'Spotify for News'. With AI, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing we create a unique, self-learning news feed for every reader, that can be accessed cross-device. Furthermore, we are showing our users a way out of their filter bubble with our bundle function, that provides an overview on how different media write about one topic. Readers can follow their favourite topics with our channels. What to expect? A fun news reading experience and articles from a great variety of local, regional, national and international newspaper and magazines. This content is made available for you in a feature-packed service, that can be downloaded for free and used on Android, iOS, Alexa, ... We are looking forward to your feedback and kind regards from Austria!

I like that there's a long list of sources. If Newsadoo can enable me to access paid content more cheaply than I can otherwise - for example the Financial Times, which is expensive to justify at £33.00 per month - then it would earn its keep for that alone.

Hi! I just downloaded your app and it's pretty decent. Love the UI and the Stories functionality. Also, having self-curated topics on the top bar is an interesting idea. It's almost a subversion of the usual stuff that are in that spot in other apps. As a news aggregator, the idea behind it is commendable. However, swiping across the grouped article cards is a pain. Well, not really, but an inconvenience. The minor lag in the animation is like a small rock caught inside a shoe. It's not really that big of a deal, but kind of annoying. I'm sure users will not critique it consciously, but it will subconsciously annoy some, and could turn into dropoff. Just my two cents after spending about 2 minutes in it. Will keep using it definitely! If it turns out better than the first impression, I will be sure to leave a rating on App Store to show some dev love haha. ✌️

Hey folks, great idea. I really got activated by the promotion of the different angle views on a single topic. Will give a try, hope you'll help to exit the echo chamber, lol By the way, "Spotify for News" sounds like a good anchor. I think you're quite different from Spotify in many aspects and that may the only constraint the vision.

@fudzi_keika Hey, thank you for your feedback. So far we used the 'Spotify for News' explanation to give people an overview - in only one sentence - what we are doing (so customization, variety of sources, etc.). We will look into your feedback, thanks again!

Another app where I can't add my own sources? God, how I miss good old RSS readers!
Alexander Sandberg
@naiyer We will definitely take that wish into consideration for the future, Naiyer. Thanks! 🙂
Anna Hauer
@naiyer Thank you for your feedback! Kind regards from Austria!

I like the article-Bundles, that give different points of view. Showing articles from different newspapers about the same topic in this „Bundles“ is quite helpfull to come out of the bubble. Good idea!
Alexander Sandberg
@quinnkunkle We're really happy to hear you like our Bundle feature, Quinn! 🥳
Anna Hauer
@quinnkunkle Thanks a lot for your feedback, Quinn! Great you like it! :)

My question would be @annahauer_, how are you guys scrapping off the content? Or did you stablish a partnership with those media companies already?
Anna Hauer
@nunezalaan Thanks a lot for this question! Our goal is to make a contract with all the publishers shown on Newsadoo, we're making great progress there. We want to maintain the variety of newspapers and magazines and create an ecosystem that allows them healthy competition with other publishers and not with social media or other tech companies deciding who gets to read what news and when. Hope this answers your question! Kind regards from Austria
