@_jacksmith same over here...I jumped on the ebook wagon early on with a first gen kindle and later the B&N nook. Calibre has been my companion ever since, as I don't like to be locked into one eco-system, which paid off when I switched readers. So I buy my books mostly DRM-free or convert them using Calibre. However the interface is horrendous, the learning curve is way too steep to attract new users. One could even speak of user-hostility, which leads to an overall bad experience. I'd say that most of the jobs I use Calibre for barely scratch the surface of it's capabilities. There really should be an easier way to do the simple jobs, like format conversion and editing of the meta-data or correcting a cover image. Especially for the non-amazon-kindle readers, which are mostly file-structure based.
