The 2011 auction of 1500 shoes netted $4.7 million. That comes out to about $3k per pair. I bet they expect more this time around.

Working from home, I rarely wear socks or shoes anymore. If I had a pair of these though... I'd be wearing them every day. lol
I haven't bought them yet, but I'd consider them
Pros:Perfect for all those people who cannot manage to tie their shoes
Cons:They need better looking design
Nike will be coming out with these in 2016 and proceeds will go to Michael J Fox foundation for Parkinson's disease... Haven't bought a pair sneakers (pain of being lean) in a while but I'll be online for this
@filipmares Universal and Nike both have agreements around the shoe. It appears that the only way Nike get's around some of these issues is by putting these shoes up for auction. Universal did release an officially licensed pair recently.
The cool thing is that sitting at home. You can find the desired product and free up time, for example, to communicate with relatives.
