Great app, That i've been fortunate enough to use since it alpha version, years ago.
Since then, it has always been on my phone, and been the right news companion, to curate the right top stories and themes/sources for me.

@benoit @m_c_b have you guys thought about integrating the Uber Trip Experiences API to determine how much time the user has (that is, based on how long their ride will be)?

@chrismessina @benoit Thank you Chris for this awesome feedback! I haven't looked at the Uber API yet, but it looks like it would totally make sense. As a matter of fact, I had the idea of tailoring news to my available time while I was getting a ride back from the airport. The Uber API + NOD could help make this happen. Thank you.
@m_c_b @chrismessina @benoit That would be amazing! I often don't start reading news because I know I'll get sucked in when I have other things to do. It would be great to say, "Give me 5 minutes of news."
@m_c_b I really like it ! Just downloaded it and looked at the whole week in a minute! any ways to add another country ? what are the overall topics ? Can I add more cards (up to 10 for example ;) )

For now, we provide editions in English and French (you can get both by tapping on the settings wheel of the last screen). We hope to add more countries down the road and look for partners or local curators who'd be interested in helping us with that.
Regarding topics: we try to give you a general view of the world by including global news, politics, business, tech/science and life/general interest stories.
Regarding more cards : we are open to making the daily deck bigger or to create topic-centered editions to add individually, but are also wary of not creating a new opportunity for information overload. Your feedback will help us get this right!
News aggregators are great, most of the ones I have used shut down after a while. Will give this a go. Good luck!

We curate 3 of the most important stories daily from approximately 150 sources. We chose these sources based on credibility, proximity and relevance. And the pool evolves as we stumble on new stories and sources every day.
So, in the English edition, on a given day, you could find a speed read from The Daily Beast and a long read from The Guardian for one story ; and then, maybe for a story unfolding in Asia, we'll have a short bit from Time or Mic and a deeper report from the South China Morning Post ; and for a tech story, maybe a blurb from The Verge would go well with some perspective from Scientific American.
We apply the same logic for the French edition, sourcing content from relevant and credible French-speaking outlets, whether they're based in France, Belgium, Switzerland, parts of Africa and the Middle East or North America.
Nice website! Just downloading the app now. I'm seeing more and more news apps offering really short summaries. Summly had short blocks of text, quartz uses the SMS layout, Finimize is an email newsletter, and now bigger news sources are creating short, punchy videos, so it'll be interesting which approach takes off the most
Great app. As most of people around i do not really have time to catch up with news. Nod is the perfect middle for me!! <3
Circa (now defunct) was my absolute favorite for summarized news because it included visuals like charts and maps (maps!!), and offered a huge list of sources at the end of each story. It also allowed you to track a topic or storyline, bookmark stories, and save articles to pocket. My favorite part is it didn't assume because you wanted your news brief, that you wanted a bunch of entertainment crap or needed dumbed down summaries with bright colors and stickers and shit. Obviously, I miss it--perhaps this can begin to fill that void.
@marcstyles hi Marc, thanks so much for trying out nod. For now, we only provide daily news in English and French but hope to broaden the offer as we grow. Which country or topics would you like to see covered?
