@stefanomerlo I'm curious what inspired you to make Noisli.
Stefano Merlo
Thanks for asking @rrhoover Noisli was born out of a personal need. I was working as a freelance designer from home and had a hard time focusing and being motivated. The thing is that if you work in total silence (e.g from home) or in a noisy place (e.g. co-working space) it has a huge impact on your productivity and can decrease it a lot. In my case the silence and the fact that I wasn't surrounded by other colleagues made me feel isolated and decreasing my focus. I'm very curious about science and I knew the benefits that background noises can have for your productivity, but no tool available was really satisfying my needs and giving me the user experience I was searching for. Well, that night I decided to create my own tool and basically Noisli was born :)

Hi Product Hunt! I am Stefano, the Founder of Noisli. I would love to introduce you to Noisli 2.0, our most significant update since launch in 2013, and have your precious feedback. The service is mainly used to drown out annoying noises in order to better concentrate and to enhance productivity, or to create a pleasant audio environment for relaxing or sleeping. The new Web version includes the following updates: • Ability to create user profiles • Save and share your favorite sound combinations • Timer, to easily use time management methods such as the Pomodoro technique • Enhanced text editor, to pleasantly write in a minimal and distraction free environment Thank you for any feedback,
Jeff Whitlock
@stefanomerlo: I love this product. I switch between this and Spotify for background noise while working. Thanks for building it!

Went to the Launch Hackathon and wanted to get a few hours of sleep – so I popped my headphones on to Noisli!
Stefano Merlo
That's awesome Tom :) What's your magic combo? @thomasmeagher
Stefano Merlo
That's great! I've added a bit of Wind :) ☔💨🔥 http://www.noisli.com/get_combo_... @thomasmeagher

Awesome! I've been using Noisli for quite a while and really look forward to the Chrome version! Any plans for an Android version?
Stefano Merlo
Sure ;) http://www.noisli.com/apps And thanks for the great feedback! @lehrjulian
Parker Agee
I use http://noiz.io/ because they have a Mac app in the menu bar. But, I'm really liking the ability to click a button on Noisli and generate a random sound instead of trying to mix my own. I think the only thing your missing is a Mac app (which I'm sure is coming in the future) to make this my go-to product.
Stefano Merlo
Thank you Parker for the feedback!! We are working hard to add some new additions to our product family :) http://www.noisli.com/apps @parkeragee
Frank
@parkeragee This was the app I was referring to in my post earlier. This is a good app and I hope Noisli can come up with something similar.

I'm a big fan of rainymood for focusing down, but I'm going to give this a go!
Stefano Merlo
That's great Darren!! Any feedback you might have is very welcome so we can further improve the service :) @darrenux

I currently use Noisli on my Macbook when commuting on the train. It's simple to use and allows me to mix different sounds to get the right combination. I'm not sure I would want to stream this from the web and incour the cell charges for background noise, though. I would stick with the Mac application and hope that it gets some of these updates.
Stefano Merlo
Thank you @fbara for the feedback. We are not available as a mac app yet :) But, you do have offline sounds with our iOS app.
Frank
@stefanomerlo Ok, I feel like an idiot. On my mac I use a different app that is spelled and sounds very similar to Noisli. That's what I get for commenting before I've had my morning coffee....
Stefano Merlo
Haha!! Don't worry Frank! If you want to use the original one then give Noisli a try and let me know what you think :) @fbara
Stefano Merlo
@andrzejb200sx @fbara we have an iOS app where all the sounds are available offline.

Any plans for a Sonos integration?
Don Vaillancourt
Hey, this doesn't work for me in Chrome or Firefox. I have no issues using YouTube or other streaming sites. Any ideas?
Adi Goldstein
I love it ! Thanks !

Absolutely love it! :-) It's just missing a good *osx version* (would buy it instantly) - and a *hair dryer sound* (it seems stupid, but http://bit.ly/1OzHZy1 this video has 8+ million views, so... 😉
