Hey PH! I’ve just launched NowPlaying 2.0! It’s one of the most significant updates since the original release. NowPlaying 2.0 is the start of a new era where it's more than a display but takes on a new approach by bringing liner notes to the modern-day century. This is just the start Here's what's new: ■ Artist Pages You will now find beautiful representations of the song's artists on the details page and discover even more music from them. The images are generated similarly as the new iOS 16 Lock-screen. ■ More Apple Music integration Even deeper integration with your Apple Music library thanks to the new iOS & iPadOS 16 improvements of MusicKit, you can now add songs to a custom playlist, Find information about songs you recently played, Search for any song and see all Audio variants. As a bonus, you can now drag and drop any song from Apple Music into NowPlaying to discover all about it. How cool is that? ■ Photos View the locations of songs (Recorded at, Mixed at, etc.) in a more visual way thanks to the new LookAround API ■ ShareWithYou Integration It's now even easier to share songs with friends. Send them a NowPlaying link, and it will automatically show up in the songs tab. ■ App Intents Discover more information about a song directly via App Intents and expose NowPlaying functionality to the Shortcuts app. → Listen with NowPlaying: Let's NowPlaying start and listen as fast as possible → Search with NowPlaying: Prompts for a title and an artist and shows you directly more facts about that song. → Learn more about the current song: This shows you more facts about the song you're playing in Apple Music without using the microphone. ■ Customisable Toolbar You are now in control of which functionalities are shown in the toolbar on iPadOS. ■ Always On Mode By turning on Always On mode, NowPlaying stays listening in the background and updates your widgets more frequently. ■ Stage Manager Keep viewing what song is playing as you multitask on the iPad. ■ Also in this update: - watchOS Crash bug fix - UI improvements: Smoother and even better looking - More App Icons: Even more app icons to unlock in fun new ways - iMessage Stickers: Fun little stickers to make your chats more musically - Appears on: Links to other releases of the same song - When connected to an external screen, we now update the screen even when you lock your device
