I've been using Nugget since the early beta, and I must say that it has been great! The momentum tracker holds you accountable and it's great to be able to share your progress with a community of likeminded individuals. For those who are beginning their entrepreneurial streak, the daily idea subscriptions are a great start. Justin and Laura have been great community facilitators as well! Congrats on the launch!

What's great about Nugget is that it shares real stories of pain points in different areas. It's insightful and useful if you want to build a startup or to understand what's happening in some area. I would highly recommend checking it out.

As a user trying this, I already had a few bad experiences when not using Social logins. - No HTTPS while signing up. - A verification mail that can take "up to 10 minutes". - Credentials sent using Ajax without a state-change meaning password managers don't pick-up my newly created account. I'll keep trying (if I receive the verification mail)

@anvanza Thanks so much for the feedback - let me see if I can help! - All pages on the Nugget website are served via https, so I'm wondering how you got an insecure login page. Are you able to replicate? - Looks like your validation email went through no problem, but let me know if you didn't see it. It usually sends within a minute of signup, but the "up to 10 mins" note is just to cover us in case of a slow-down. Perhaps we should update that message to "a few minutes" to be more accurate. - Thanks for your last note about Ajax - we'll be looking into it. Again, thanks for the input and ask us anything! I see you're a project manager too, so you know how it goes with rolling out new stuff and getting that first wave of feedback - keep it coming :)

@anvanza A follow up on this. We figured out what the issue was. There was a template config variable that said http instead of https and it was erroneously putting http as a link in the email. The good news is all requests are forced to be https so even if you clicked that link it ended up as https. Anyway, now the error is fixed and emails will be sent out with https links all round. Thanks for catching this!

Since the original release of Nugget two years ago, we’ve spoken with hundreds of founders and have created a seamless way to find your perfect startup idea. Access to 2,898+ startup ideas is instant and free! There is also an additional 600 vetted premium ideas (with instant free access to 5 of those). There are also other tools that help founders like the nugget momentum tracker and live mentoring.

I joined Nugget when looking for a place to bounce ideas off other like minded entrepreneurs. Since joining, I have made the transition from wanting to launch a cool product to actually building a business. I still have a long way to go on this journey, but Nugget has helped redefine myself in ways I never though possible.

If you are a "wantrepreneur" like I was, I can't even begin to describe the benefits you will get from joining the Nugget community. From finally picking a worthwhile idea to executing and launching, the community and resources on Nugget will help you get where you have always wanted to be.

Just be prepared. It is a lot of work to launch a business, so don't come in expecting them to do all the work for you. If you have an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a drive to succeed, you will thrive with the help that Nugget provides! I hope to see you there!

Pros:

Tons of startup ideas (3500+)! Responsive and helpful community. Lots of additional resources to help you get started.

Cons:

Need more users: The core of the site is fantastic, but I get great value out of conversations and would love more people to talk to!

The phrase "free instant access" is wrong on both counts. You can't actually read any of the nuggets on the site except for a one sentence title. Clicking on any title simply gets you a "This feature is reserved for Academy members. We would love for you to join the Academy!" The "Academy" is on a waitlist, and there is no pricing or scheduling information available. It would appear that the days of this site wanting more users is well behind it.

@mike_feldmeier Just seeing this now. There are 2 streams of ideas "RAW" (3,272) and "PREMIUM" (780). New users can click in to an unlimited number of raw ideas for free and 5 premium ideas (before the popup you mention). I think you may have just clicked the premium only and not the raw. Either way, I'll be making all ideas 100% accessible to anyone. This will be released on (or before) Aug 1, 2020. Note: If you (or anyone reading this) reach out to me at justin at nugget dot one and I can flip a switch to enable your account to access all ideas if you want access before Aug 1.

I dont think find startup ideas must pay. What difference do you make? You can find here: https://www.producthunt.com/post... and https://www.producthunt.com/post....

@cuongbkit Thanks so much for your post. I think the main difference is that each idea on Nugget is submitted by a customer who has a real problem they want to pay to get solved. For example, none of the ideas start out from someone saying "I've got a cool idea".
Richard
@justin_vincent I mean, why do people choose Nugget without choosing anything else, know that other products are free?
Ken Wallace
@justin_vincent @cuongbkit Hi Richard, on Nugget, the business ideas are free, just like the ideas are free in the competing community that you launched over at Youngstartup club. But, we all know that business ideas mean very little unless the startup founder gets in touch with actual customers and finds a way to solve their problem. Even then, even after finding potential customers, the hard part is still in front of the maker. The hardest part is doing the meaningful work of making daily, relentless, undeniable, and oft-frustrating incremental progress toward solving the customer pain. Nugget helps with this stuff, the truly hardest part. Customers who choose to upgrade from Nugget's free plan get help with the hard work of building consistent momentum toward launching and growing their sustainable business. Sure, these startup communities are popping up a lot these days (I'm a member at WIP.chat, for example, as well as FounderCafe, Nugget and several others), but I think that's a good thing. Because these communities aren't one size fits all. Find your tribe, wherever they are. It's better for startup founders to have more choices, not less, so they can find whatever support they personally need to help them take the next steps in their journey.
