I actually got one of these on Indiegogo. The video doesn't quite do it justice. Here's what makes it stand out for me: - No monthly fees: They don't force you into a subscription. While cloud storage is available. You do get an SD card slot to store the recordings. - Magnet base: This may not be intuitive, but is actually a big advantage when it comes to mounting and adjusting the thing for the right angle. - Notification filtering: Lord, this is a big one! If you've dealt with any camera you know how your phone goes off every time your cat runs past it or a curtain moves because of a little breeze. Not here. - IFTTT integration: Noone else has this. I've set it up to turn off recording once we get home.

@romanzadyrako thanks for the feedback. With new features from @IFTTT you can build even more awesome automation scenarios

The intro video is insane. I am a fan already !!!

@joy014 thanks :)

Do you have a side-by-side comparison of the Oco 2 vs the Arlo Pro? I am comparing both devices, and they seem very similar regarding specs/features. With the Arlo Pro being wireless vs a wired connection on the Oco 2. Thank you!! (Always do your diligence before making a purchase ;)
Andreas Duess
@davidkram I'd be interested in that as well. The Arlo seems the gold standard at the moment, and I have to admit the "no wires and waterproof" scenario is beating the Oco in a bunch of key convenience areas.
Andrey Gabisov
@davidkram @andreasduess First it is picture quality. Oco2 is Full HD and has 140 degrees view angle, compared to HD and 130 degree Arlo Pro. Second, we have no base station. So if you have multiple Oco cameras (even different models) you can place them really far from each other, connect to different routers, etc. - they will all connect to the same account in the cloud. It is very convenient for business security. Third, we have higher rating for our app (Ivideon App has 4.5 stars compared to Arlo 3.5), our Cloud has no limitation on amount of cameras to connect or storage capacity (both extremely important if you need many cameras). Finally the price. 249.99 Arlo against 159 Oco2. Yes, Oco2 is not weatherproof, but it is way better for indoor surveillance due to picture quality. For outdoor we have Oco Pro, that is a real outdoor camera that compared to many other "outdoor" cameras can sustain harsh winter or hot summer. Oco Pro is also Full HD, with SD card and starts at 169. You can combine different Oco cameras in one account. As for "wireless" feature. Battery is great until it is cold/hot and you need to record something long or you want to watch a live feed. In my opinion we should wait some time to get a sustainable wireless video surveillance.

Awesome video and awesome product. Great work!

Here's the question most parents of babies will have. Can this work as a baby monitor?!?!? if so, shutup and take my money! Baby monitor's have some specific functions, while many security cameras claim to work as one, they actually don't. Baby monitor's work more as a push service. So the camera has to ALWAYS be streaming audio to the client, and the client has to relay that audio and/or alert in real time (not 5 seconds later). Does this camera/app do that? Or is the camera compatible with baby monitor apps that support 3rd party cameras?
Andrey Gabisov
@wuss Dear Noah, I'm a father of a 2yo and I've been using Oco1 and now Oco2 as a baby monitor. Oco2 is super easy to mount with a tripod over the crib (see the picture above). When the camera detects motion or sound you get a notification almost instantly. Yes there is a couple seconds lag, but from my experience it doesn't change anything. You can also use two-way talk to calm the baby while you run to the baby room.

If I want to get the Oco2 should I go through Indiegogo?
Andrey Gabisov
@ramtorn Hi Dan, yes Indiegogo is the only available option now.
Fred Rivett
That is one of the best product intro video's I've ever seen 👏
Andrey Gabisov
@fredrivett thanks Fred!

Ordered 2 and just received the shipping notice. Looking forward to playing with it soon. What sold me on Indiegogo was the design of the base and the camera. How did you guys come up with the design? Any sketches?
Andrey Gabisov
@spenceryang it was a very long process. Thanks to Etienne, our french designer, we've got what we need. The goal was to make the device as small as we can, but keeping it's functionality. We didn't want a bulky device, that is disrupts the interior. Oco2 is tiny and easy to move around.

@dandaka Love this picture:
Pascal Morniroli
How long is the electrical cord? Sounds silly but in fact it is not a minor detail when you want to choose the most strategic place for your cam and avoid having it in plain sight.
Andrey Gabisov
@pascalmorniroli It is around 10ft, but it's a basic microUSB cord - you can find a longer one by other manufacturer.
Pascal Morniroli
Oh and does it only come in black?
Andrey Gabisov
@pascalmorniroli yes, it comes in black only for now. We might consider other colors in the future.

Cool! I have two questions. 1. Does the oco2 produces it own wifi so I can see and hear what it is filming (in real-time) without the need of external wifi (a p2p transmission) 2. Does it require an internet connection when connected to a wifi network?
Andrey Gabisov
@rotemthegolfer Dear Rotem, as for today you need to be connected to the internet and Oco has to be connected to a Wi-Fi router. But we are working on som new features
Carylyne Chan
I have Oco 1 and can't wait to get an Oco 2! Another great advantage of Oco is that you don't get fake notifications that spam you constantly. It's definitely the best home cam out there in my opinion.
Carlos Lei Santos
I ordered one and can't wait for it to arrive! Had the pleasure to see an Oco 1 in action and it's amazing, however the design of the Oco 2 made me instantly fall in love: that magnetic base is genious. Just one question, does the Oco 2 has night vision as well?
Andrey Gabisov
@carlosleisantos yes, we have improved our night vision technology. It works up to 20ft
Germán Castaño
Awesome idea, and the IFTT integration is a really cool feature that helps simplify automation for most people. The SD card is a good idea in case of losing Internet connection, but in this line of thought, a battery would be nice to add just in case of an energy cut-off.
Andrey Gabisov
@_jacksmith, thank you for hunting us! 🙏 We are happy to share our newest camera with the Product Hunt community. We have started our company 2 years ago because as fathers we wanted a reliable security infrastructure for our homes. Most of you think “yet another camera” But the cost of ownership (device and cloud subscription) for most of them is high. And cheap copycats are not reliable and vulnerable to hacks. So we decided to build our own device and this is the second generation of our camera. As an indie team we are very much different from the corporate monster “They Who Cannot Be Named" and others: 1. SD Card: store video locally on an SD card and don’t pay for cloud storage. 128GB card will be enough for around 4 days of events. You will have remote access to your videos from anywhere with our App. 2. No monthly fees: our basic FREE cloud plan allows you to access all camera features like self-learning algorithm, two-way talk etc. Pay only for extended storage or use SD card and don’t pay at all. 3. Compact and easy to mount: take it with you on a trip (especially if you rent a random AirBnB room), use at home, office, mount it on the crib with a tripod or use Oco magnet to place it on your fridge, shelf, etc. 4. Honest: we deliver a full featured device for a fraction of cost. We don’t want anyone to overpay for something because of the brand, corporate struggles or investor’s expectations. Check out our crowdfunding video to learn more. We also have a special 25% discount for Product Hunt community. See the link 🔝 I will be here all day to answer your questions.
David Feng
@agabisov @_jacksmith About to become a huge fan. For SD card recording, does this support looping then? Love the form factor!
Andrey Gabisov
@davidsfeng thank you! Once SD card is full Oco starts to overwrite the old videos.
David Kram
@agabisov are these ready to ship now?
Andrey Gabisov
@davidkram we have just received yesterday the first batch in the US and it is ready to ship. The rest for this year will be manufactured in couple of weeks from now.
David Kram
@agabisov awesome! Any special discounts available that can bring down the cost to the early bird price of $99 again? 😜 can't wait to order one
Andreas Duess
Every time I've decided on a camera system for our office, something else comes along with an extra dose of "More Shiny" added. Darn it.

I want this just because of the product video!

video was super cool!

Very nice design! I like it!

General question: Why aren't 360 cameras used as surveillance cameras?
Andrey Gabisov
@phippuuuu they are, but for the home security 140 degree view angle is more then enough. You cover the whole room with 1 device.
