Otter records and transcribes live conversations, and turns audio/video into notes you can search, highlight, edit, and share. Ideal for meetings, interviews, lectures, podcasts, webinars. Most accurate and affordable transcription in the market. English only.

These new features for podcasters and Zoom users are super cool! • Record, transcribe, and take live notes on podcasts or videos playing in iOS Podcasts, Pandora, Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, and other apps. • Otter Live Notes is an add-on for Zoom meeting hosts to enable live transcription for all participants and live note-taking for collaborators. Available with the Otter for Teams plan.

Love Otter. Wish the transcription service was available outside of the team plans. It sucks tools for accessibility are associated with the most expensive plan. Doesn’t make that quite accessible now does it?

@cat_hicks We provide many options at different levels ... 1. For live transcription, Otter Live Notes is an add-on for Zoom meeting hosts to enable live transcription for all participants and live note-taking for collaborators. Available for Otter for Teams plan only. Learn more and see a video demo at https://blog.otter.ai/zoom 2. Alternatively, if you are interested in creating transcripts for Zoom cloud recordings post-meeting, you can read more about our Zoom Sync feature (available for all Otter plans) at https://blog.otter.ai/zoom-sync 3. Lastly, you can record with Otter and watch the transcript live while putting the Zoom meeting on speaker mode (available for all Otter plans). Learn more at https://blog.otter.ai/how-to-tra...

Why are you adding a barrier to having things accessible? Many members of my community rely on captions. I am working with a competitor of yours on their beta because you don’t offer it. I’m a team of one. I have zero need for a teams plan. yes I’m aware of those other options and use zoom sync for videos I post on YouTube. I can’t believe you’re even listing that as an option thinking that’s an accessible alternative. Waiting for captions on a video means someone can’t participate in real time and has to wait or I have to hire someone to run captions or interpret because I work solo. If you’re gonna tout you’re making things like live captions to be accessible don’t portion it off to only a small group of your users. That is adding an unnecessary barrier to accessibility. There are already enough of those out there already.

@_simonlau I pay you for 6000 minutes a month. If I want to use those for live captioning I should be able to
Simon Lau
@cat_hicks Option 3 above lets you use those minutes for live transcription even in Otter Basic and Premium plans. See this demo video:
Option 1 is a business solution aimed at enabling organizations (i.e. Zoom meeting hosts) to provide accessibility and live note-taking to all meeting participants (who can access for free). This option is not intended for individual meeting participants seeking to get live transcription for themselves. Option 3 is for individuals. Option 2 is an accessibility option for post-meeting notes, closed captioning for video on demand, podcast show notes, and many other use cases. It enables podcasters, video producers, and anyone creating content to make their online content more accessible to the deaf/HOH community.

I have been a user of Otter for years now. It's amazing to see how accurate it is. It's one the first application that I open before I start any meeting. Just curious, does Otter has an open API? How would one go about integrating Otter in their product ?makers
Simon Lau
@alainpascalr Thank you for your kind feedback! At this time, we do not have a public API and are focused on working directly with consumers, education institutions, and enterprises. API integrations may be on our roadmap as demand grows. In the meantime, you can utilize Otter's integration with Dropbox to transcribe video/audio files in your Dropbox automatically. To see how to sync Otter with Dropbox, check out this video:
. To get this Dropbox integration, please upgrade to Otter Premium or Otter for Teams at https://otter.ai/pricing
