I started building Paku in 2020 when the skies turned orange in San Francisco. iOS had just gained support for widgets, but PurpleAir didn’t have an iOS app - so I set out to build it myself. Three years later and wildfire smoke is just as big of an issues. Paku 5 has a ton of new features that make it even easier to keep track of air quality and how it’s changing. Data points now have trend arrows, and you can view charts with up to one week of data. AQI alerts will not only notify you when the air quality worsens, but also when it gets better. The new Apple Watch app is more powerful, with trends and charts as well. And Paku now supports Shortcuts, which means you can power automations, or check the AQI using Siri or the iPhone 15 Pro Action Button.
