Paper makes it simple to embed custom web3 wallets in your app: No seed phrases → Users create wallets with email; No annoying pop-ups → Sign messages & pay for gas for users; No crypto needed → Users can buy NFTs with credit card
Hey hunters!
My name’s James and I'm the co-founder and CEO at Paper. Last year, we launched our NFT Checkout on Product Hunt and it's been a wild ride. Thanks to your support, we've helped thousands of developers from communities like Wonderpal to household names like Unilever & Deadmau5 sell and deliver NFTs to their fans.
Today, we are excited to announce the launch of Paper’s Embedded Wallet Service (EWS). Our service lets developers create secure wallets in their application with custom branding using just an email address. The customizable wallet comes with NFT checkout, gasless calls, and transaction signing out-of-the box, giving developers the tools to build an ideal user experience without the constraints of 3rd party wallets.
We decided to launch EWS because we’ve seen how difficult it is for developers to build token-gated experiences for their NFT holders post-sale. To illustrate, for a user to use any decentralized app today, they first have to go to a different website to download and create a wallet. This already alienates 99% of internet users. Even if the customer makes through the process of setting up a wallet, they now need to learn about transaction signing, gas tokens, and network switching. Each additional point of friction leads to more customers dropping out of the funnel.
Paper Embedded Wallets are non-custodial wallets where the private keys are secured using Threshold Secret Sharing. This means that there’s no single point of failure and the customers’ assets will never be compromised in the event of a developer or Paper breach. Users will always be able to access their wallet even in the event that the developer or Paper shuts down. This lets both developers and customers have complete peace of mind.
Our developers tools is open for anyone to use. We are on Polygon, Ethereum and Solana. Try it out by going to https://withpaper.com/product/wa...
@jameszmsun Congratulations on launching Paper, the platform for creating embedded wallets that make web3 easy for users! It simplifies the web3 experience for users and increases accessibility to the blockchain ecosystem. Excited to see the progress in the future!
Paper makes purchasing and using NFTs dead simple. Users only need an email and credit card to buy their NFT, while developers get the ability to:
- Create custom branded web3 wallets using email & social auth
- Accept credit cards for NFT purchase
- Sponsor gas for any action in the wallet (i.e. NFT claims)
- Sign transactions for online users
Congratulations on launching Paper! It sounds like a great way to make crypto accessible and secure for everyone. I'm interested to see how it will be used!
Super cool! The biggest problem with getting a billion people in web3 is that it's too difficult to use. Love how many "no's" you have here. No seed phrases, no gas, no such thing as a "transaction", no extensions to download, no crypto needed!
Can't wait to see this everywhere!
Congrats on the launch of your project on Product Hunt! 🔥 It looks super! I will try it. I just have a single query. What do you think makes it stand out from the competition?
As someone who takes a lot of notes, I think Paper is a fantastic tool. The platform's intuitive interface and integration with Google Drive and other apps make it easy to take, organize, and share notes with others.
This is a great solution for people who are new to the crypto world and don't want to deal with seed phrases and pop-ups. Do you have any plans to expand the payment options beyond credit cards?
@teena2 We already support other payment options, including Google Pay, Apple Pay, iDEAL, debit cards, and paying with Ethereum for NFTs sold on other chains.
@sonu6 Paper's embedded wallets are entirely self custodial for the end user. They are created on the client side where the private key is securely sharded with threshold secret sharing cryptography. Paper never holds sufficient information to access the wallet unless the user is active. In the event of any kind of breach of Paper, an attacker will never be able to access users' wallets.

@payal4 Paper's embedded wallets is already available on other EVM chains like Polygon. The embedded wallets that are created are full EVM-compatible wallets even at launch today. You are able to access an EIP-1193 provider for wallets that are spun up.
