@razkarmi Yes, we've noticed your support and we are very thankful! Thanks for the thunderclap, thanks for sharing from the start, thanks for being on Producthunt today! It means a lot...
Congrats team - this is so beautiful and so fun. To be expected from the Smiirl team (g'day NUMA brothers), but still such a delight.
It reminds me a lot of the work that Linda Liukas has done with her wonderful "Hello Ruby" series. The future is looking pretty great for kids coming up with this kind of design and tech aesthetic wrapped in so much fun. Love it 😻
@pinaffaux@abadesi thanks ! 3 years ago, we started exploring the inside of electronics and we discovered an invisible world made of materials, graphics.
We started a list of all the existing components (resistors, potentiometer, etc), and tried to rebuild them ourselves with materials that we found around us.
That’s when we realized the potential of combining paper with electronics. we then learned about conductive ink, managed to get some. All this component where actually fun to play with, so instead of designing a only pedagogical book explaining each electronic principle one by one , we decided to create toys around/with them !
Hey Product Hunt folks!
We're excited to be here. I am on on the creator of Papier Machine (We have been working on Papier Machine for three years now). We were really curious and amazed by all the tiny world inside the electronics, that's how we started the project. Feedbacks and question are more than welcome !!!
Looks pretty cool!
Did Nintendo Labo announcement sped the launch up?
Did you know anything about their plan regarding what I would call "intelligent paper"?
Anway, that's a fun idea, and not only for kids imo :)
@b_diolez Actually, we didn't know what they were up to! We're huge fans of their work and the product is really cool!
We're happy to see that we're not the only ones to see the potential of paper !
But the products are very different actually. While they use screens, we chose to work with conductive ink and graphite pencil conductivity.
But who knows, maybe we'll see a product combining both in the next five days? ;)
It's a beautiful and very smart project. I'm following Raphaël @rpluvina for a while : he is also the lead designer at @Smiirl and I'm always very very impressed by his amazing job: Always simple and so smart at the same time, and of course, beautiful 💅 Congrats team 🙌 and I am now waiting for my own Papier Machine 📦
