Paste is a smart cloud clipboard history and snippets manager for Mac. It keeps everything you've ever copied and lets you use your clipboard history whenever you need it from all your Macs.

Dmitry, I purchased v1 and love it. Clicked on the link to App Store from your site and it let's me "open" the app, but when I do, it's still v1. It does show as v2 in the App Store. Is it a paid upgrade? If so, do I need to delete my v1 app and purchase v2? EDIT: I deleted the app then went back to the App Store, installed it and confirmed that it is v2.

@scottwwilliams you can just restart or reload App Store app, anyway glad to hear the you've finally started using it :)

I've been beta testing this version for a few months. I think this is the best clipboard manager you can get. It's amazingly improved my workflows and increased productivity. UI is great and it's not disruptive(unlike v1), the clipboard bar slides from the bottom and it's very easy to pick from the history. I've also found a use for a snippet manager, I store email signatures there, to paste to various email clients I use. I'm a fan, highly recommended.

Free update @stel2k?! Also been a beta tester for Paste 2. When I bought Paste I was thrown: "$10 for a fricken' clipboard manager? I already owned Alfred and I used Jumpcut." But man is the UX sweet - It's been my secret weapon since. It's so ingrained in my workflow that I don't even notice it moving up and down from my field of vision. I've even had people stop me, asking, "Wait! What's that bar?" and I don't notice it. A perfect example of, "easily found when looking for it, and invisible when you're not". All around a wonderful product to use. Thanks Dmitry!
Dmitry Obukhov
@nickjnish thanks for your feedback! It's a free update for the first version, did you have it?
Mike Coutermarsh
Bought it! Really nice. I've been using Flycut for YEARS. Paste is like a more modern feature rich version. For devs if you're going to use this. In preferences you can change paste to always use plain text. You'll also want to install the paste helper to auto paste into whatever app you're currently using.
Dmitry Obukhov
@mscccc thanks for pointing to Paste Helper, forgot to add this to the description but hope Initial Setup will help everyone to install it ;)

update - @stel2K! Been using this for 4 days now. Being able to search for a code snippet I copied days ago is... JUST SO GOOD. I LOVE YOU PASTE!!!!!

What a brilliant piece of software this is. Shoutout to Dmitry for giving us this awesome Update for free! It's easy to code a Clipboard Manager and it's not rocket science to create a good one. But the entire execution of Paste is absolutely perfect, making it a textbook example for UX & UI design.
Dmitry Obukhov
@gopietz Thanks! I've tried to make Paste looks and feels like a part of the OS, really happy to hear that you like it!

@neoberg I think apples spotlight pales in comparison to to the power of Alfred.

Love the details. This is what it looks like when copying from iterm

Have been beta testing Paste for a while, and I love it like nothing else. Paste has saved me time like no other app. I'm not a cloud-clipboard guy, considering the data that's being sent to the cloud using these apps. Instead, Paste does one job super good, which is to make Clipboard searchable, right on your Mac. HUGE HUGE HUGE Fan.
Dmitry Obukhov
@imkarthikk I am so glad that you like it!

I've been using the beta for a while and it's great. Paste is the most valuable Mac app I've ever used. I use it every day, all day. For those who are hesitant on purchasing it, don't be. This app is very well made and worth more than $10 in my opinion. Plus, you can ask for a refund if you really don't like it... Thanks for the free upgrade!

@unseenvision thanks so much for feedback!

Since you're looking for feedback @stel2k , here's my thoughts: Longtime FlyCut user. I ponied up the $10 to buy V1 of Paste because I am very happy there is some action happening in this space. I just couldn't get past the clip navigation. In FlyCut you can press the shortcut key again (mine is CMD+Shift+V) and cycle through the clips. Then since I have the "Sticky Bezel" option disabled the bezel just disappears. Feels swift and clean. Having to press CMD + 1..9 etc in Paste takes extra time. My hand needs to move 3-4 inches up the keyboard to the number keys or to the arrow keys to paste. This makes the process seem sluggish. That's why I keep trying Paste and going back to FlyCut. I love the direction your product is heading, the UI look and feel is super nice and polished. Part of what got me to try it in the first place. If you can make the clip selection process faster by allowing the shortcut key to be pressed multiple times to cycle through the clips -- and paste + exit on release.. then I would probably switch to Paste. One other quick note-- I think that the Paste helper app should be bundled. Why the extra step? Assuming its for App Store sandboxing or something.. could you have it automatically download upon opening paste for the first time? Just my 2c. Keep up the great work!
Dmitry Obukhov
@nickwoodhams thank you very much for feedback! Yeah, Paste Helper is distributed as separate app because of sandboxing and it also can't be bundled for the same reason. And there is no way to download Helper automatically, Apple will reject it on review :(

I've already paid Alfred for the Powerpack option, which includes an extended clipboard which, unlike some other solutions, works with the new shared Clipboard between devices in macOS Sierra/iOS 10. Does Paste 2 support the shared clipboard?
Dmitry Obukhov
@legerdemain Universal Clipboard syncs clipboards across devices while Paste keeps everything organized ;)
Mikka Luster
@stel2k Good, since some solutions seem to hook UIPasteboard in a way that won't simply add whatever I copy on my iPad, for example, to the list. Buying.
Dmitry Obukhov
@legerdemain let me know if you have any issues via support@pasteapp.me

I would think in buying it if it had multidirectional iCloud Sync and extension and app for iOS (iPhone & iPad Pro 13") even if I had to pay for each separately and more… Without them feels like having a "Photos" app that is permanently isolated from my other Mac and iOS devices, simply not good enough for a multi device junkie like myself. For me the iPad changed the way use computers and for the better. So now everything has to flow otherwise it's obsolete from my point of view.
Dmitry Obukhov
@abetancort thanks for feedback! I'm working hard to support sync across devices ;)

I love Paste 2 and use it daily for work (my job involves a lot of copying and pasting links and not having to constantly switch back and forth between tabs is a real time saver). I was wondering, though: is there a way to "lock" a snippet to prevent accidentally deleting it? So far that's really my only complaint.
Justin Go
Congrats on the launch! The app looks great but the $10 price tag might be too steep for some. It's also a shame there's no trial option before buying. For anyone looking for a freeware app that has the same functionaility, I've been using http://www.clipmenu.com/ for a while now and it works perfectly :)
Alexander Solovyov
@justingosan or JumpCut, it's been around for eternity, does job well and never asks for anything.
Dmitry Obukhov
@justingosan Paste 2 is a free update for a first version and Mac apps don't get as much revenue as iOS do, but I really want to continue the development and survive :) BTW you can alway refund it on Mac App Store if you don't like it, it compensates the lack of trial version in some point ;)
Justin Go
@stel2k I don't mean to pry on your app design decisions but I'm genuinely curious as to what's stopping you from putting it up for free on the Mac App Store and implementing something like a 7 day free trial. I just feel like these kinds of utility apps need to be tried out first before first-time users can make an informed decision to purchase :) but that's just totally my opinion heh
Dmitry Obukhov
@justingosan I believe Apple doesn't allow me to do that in MAS, while distributing and supporting trial version via our own web sites will require more development :( But I completely agree with you about trial version and hope someday will have time to implement it, thanks again for your thoughts!
Jus
@atherkildsen @justingosan Isn't this pretty much what is coming in macOS Sierra?

@stel2k - I loveeeee Paste but have one issue. Even though Paste is open, it often does not show in my menu bar. Is there a trick to get it to always be there? This makes it impossible for me to access the board showing last copied items. I have even tried the shortcut for "Show Last Pinboard" with no luck. Example: https://www.evernote.com/l/AArCW...
Dmitry Obukhov
@rushhourlocal thanks for feedback! I've send you some tips from support@pasteapp.me ;)

I've been using Paste 2 in beta and it is now an essential part of my workflow. It's gorgeous and easy to use. It stays out of the way until you need it and then disappears again. It feels like something Apple built into the OS. Similar to not having TextExpander running, my Mac feels broken if it's not running and I try to use it. I highly encourage everyone to buy it and use it for a day. You can refund it...but you won't.

I've been using paste for a very long time, after striking out on features for nearly every other clipboard manager. I don't get the balk at the $10 price tag, seems incredibly reasonable for something that you use multiple times a day. Stoked to see it hit 2.0, keep up the good work!

Really relieves the headache of going back and forth between tabs and windows copying and pasting one thing at a time. Copy images, plain text, links, etc. You can even tell it what kinds of things you don't want copied (e.g., passwords, etc.).

Pros:

Great for storing things you only need for a short while and things you'll need longterm.

Cons:

I haven't found a better alternative.

What about Android app?

I've been an AVID user of Paste 2 for over a year now and I can definitely say that it is the BEST Mac productivity app I've ever used. Makes my life so much easier, I've even suggested it to management at work because of the efficiency savings it can bring. Please can you create a Windows version of it however, and one for Android too! 🙏 Thanks team!!

Love the app and even more in love with the update! I was just thinking how awesome it would be to save my clips. Lo and behold, it comes out in this one! One of the best apps I would not mind spending $10 on. :)
