We are building a better and faster way to answer all your career questions by using AI to connect you to best mentors and peers who have the same experience, interests, and motivations as you.
Hey Everyone!
This is Ming - Co-founder of PathFinder. Super excited to launch our exciting project!
Here's my little backstory:
I have spend so much time navigating my career. I started with Computer Science then got interested specifically in AI, then did AI + Bio Research at healthcare companies. I didn't like the healthcare environment, so I did AI + Bio research at Big Tech, realized I just don't like AI Research anymore. Then pivot and did ML Product Engineering, and now I'm pivoting into EducationTech and Entrepreneurship.
Here's the problem:
We all experience shifts in our interests and career journeys.. During these transitions, questions like "Am I truly passionate about X?", "What does the day to day of X actually look like", "How do I get my foot in the door?", often arise.
That's where mentors who've been through similar changes and peers with shared goals can be invaluable resources.
But let's face it, Linkedin is terrible for this. I used to spend hours scrolling through countless profiles, reaching out to potential mentors, and sending cold LinkedIn messages, only to receive 2 responses.
That's why we've created PathFinder, to make this process lightning-fast. Sign up now to be the first to know when we launch: http://get-pathfinder.com/ 🚀💡
Let's make career exploration and mentorship easier than ever before! 👥🌟
That was a problem worth solving. Interesting to see how AI can applied to solve this. But to be honest, the role of AI here , uptil now seems doesn't add much USP to your products. I believe for this problem, the most delightful value is the deeply personalized advice for the user, also would be more valuable if it encounters some trustworthy characteristic quiz system like MBTI (one of my favorites), so not only the users can receive general advices, but deeply personalized and more information that can encourage them to understand themself and proactive evaluate the career advice provided by the system as well. Anw, congrats on the launch and great job!
@vu_nguy_n_quang The purpose is to use AI (ChatGPT) to give the most personalized advice, maybe I could have done a better job expressing that.
That's an interesting idea to use personality tests. Do you mind elaborating more on that?
@ming_jeng Yes. I have in the workforce for more than 10 years and co-founded a few companies. During the journey, understand myself, my strong and week points, my personality type (MBTI is my favorite, but also there are others), or further more, Ikigai, my Why,.. is super helpful to drive my career choice, and daily decision making. So,.. just a personal idea, if your solution could in-corporate these knowledge into the process of discovering their career, that would be great (even it could be hard and required effort)
