Excited to see this launch! As a newsletter publisher myself with sponsors this space is very interesting to me. Which side has been tougher to grow for this initial release - the publishers or the advertisers?

@ryangilbert Great question! For this particular release we promoted it with advertisers first to ensure there would be bids on the platform for publishers. So newsletter publishers that come onto the platform now can get access to that demand.

I’ve been using the Paved Ad Network for a couple of years; I was able to integrate it into my custom template setup easily, and even before they got the recent ad-designer tool, it was awesome to have a template that matched my custom design. The team is really doing something great. (And now they have @kampheyapproved on board, who is also pretty great as well.)

The last two months I've been part of the Paved Team and working on advocating for Publishers in this Ad Network. It's been a joy to see many of the issues that I've collected over the years w/ newsletter ads be addressed in this single platform. While trying to do sponsorships in my old newsletter Influence Weekly, I was inundated with back and forth emails. The marketplace helps cull down a lot of that back and forth. Also the initial outreach phase is completely eliminated with Paved. But nothing compares to this Ad Network. An absolute marvel with features that put Publishers in the driver seat. Allows more control than I've ever seen before. It makes me want to start up 5 daily newsletters now. It makes me want to fire up mailchimp again and churn out landing pages. Giving writers, creators, publishers, the power to literally focus on their content instead of dealing with ads, has been worth the work. @maxwellcdavis The Ad network is a line of HTML code that newsletter owners put in their email template. The same code can be sent every time a newsletter is sent.

@maxwellcdavis Yes there is a way. So on Paved we have two distinct ways for Publishers to engage with Advertisers. On the Marketplace you can create your profile and engage with Advertisers. On the Ad Network side you don't have to engage with advertisers. One thing about the Ad Network you can do now, is curate the ad categories. Also you can disallow any specific advertiser you want. So there are those controls for the Ad Network on behalf of the newsletter publisher.

@sweatc Not at all! We have different options depending on how you would like to run newsletter sponsorships. The Paved Marketplace lets you run 1:1 sponsorships with advertisers so you can get to know them, and the Ad Network lets you run in a more automated way by selecting your ad categories or other filters.

@jashenk Thank you, Jeff! Paved offers both the Ad Network, and a Marketplace to secure 1:1 sponsorships from advertisers. There is a review and approval process before an advertiser can join Paved, so you can rest assured that these are premium brands that will resonate with your audience. In addition, with this new release we have the Native Ad Editor, which allows you to directly edit your ad templates to match the style of your newsletter and boost performance.
