@ckpleiser Thanks Carsten! We've worked on feedback from the community and previous product hunt launches- it's been very interesting to see how many different types of makers, startups and advertisers have used Pear!

Niche audiences, this is what i need. Congrats!
Kit Mackenzie
@fajarsiddiq Great to hear and thanks so much! Coming from my previous behind-the-scenes development work into being more of an indie hacker, I really started to appreciate how powerful reaching niche audiences with the right creator can be to get the word out, which informed a lot of the product planning for the 3.0 launch.

kasra eghbaldar
love the product! question: how are the engagement metrics and demographics verified for the influencers in the database?
Kit Mackenzie
@kasra_eghbaldar thanks so much! Audience data has either been submitted by creators, and cross checked or found by our researchers from public platforms i.e. YouTube channel, Facebook page stats, podcast platforms etc. Working out the statistics we could find and present which would be useful for sponsorship decision makers, especially for Patreon creators who can work across so many platforms, and has been informed by my previous experiences connecting with creators there.
Eugene Zolotarenko
Really great job, good luck with it!
Kit Mackenzie
@eugzolotarenko Thank you so much Eugene! We've had some new creators submit their work to Pear already during the launch, which is exciting to see!

Hi! I'm Kit, and I'm the incoming owner of Pear- a research service saving indie advertisers time and money by finding newsletter, podcast and Patreon creators actively seeking sponsorship opportunities. Pear is a straightforward but effective online business which launched right here on PH back in 2017! How are we making Pear differentiated and useful? - The goal: help advertisers, makers and indie hackers connect with creators actively seeking sponsorship, so they can grow together - More platforms- like newsletters, Podcast and Patreon ads are booming and can offer outstanding value for indie advertisers, so we're including databases for them too - Focused- no direct sales, programmatic placements or mediated discussions, just find relevant creators and connect with them outside of Pear - Active- skip the scroll through hundreds of dead/inactive channels, and focus on a smaller number of relevant creators - Occasional discounts- from time to time, unearthing discounted ad slots for our subscribers so they can test growth channels for less - Quality-of-life improvements; update card details & 1-click unsubscription within the app I'm working to build Pear into the product I would have loved to use while growing my first online startup, where creator marketing was far more effective at driving sign-ups than any of over a dozen other channels I tried- but also by far the most time and money intensive. Pear's directories are sourced from a combination of direct submissions from creators, and public requests for sponsorship found online by Pear's tools and researchers. Importantly, everything is screened for recent activity. If you run an email newsletter, podcast or Patreon and you're seeking advertising sponsors, you can reach our audience of advertisers here: Newsletters: https://airtable.com/shrlHA7whfN... Podcasts: https://airtable.com/shrsvCHd0AW... Patreon accounts: https://airtable.com/shrTj4Rcs29... Pear was listed on Tiny Acquisitions earlier this year, which was where I picked up the baton from founder Andrew, and began to build on the work he and Csaba had done to expand from the original MVP. I had previously encountered Pear while doing my own marketing research, so I was keen to make Pear my first acquisition and test some of my theories about how indie advertisers could benefit from a research service like Pear. Since 2017, all sorts of businesses and makers have used Pear, but the most common themes have been Software companies and indie hackers (~18%), Ecommerce sites (~15%), SAAS companies and start-ups (~15%), Digital marketing agencies (~13%) and newsletters looking to grow their readership (~10%). If you join Pear in the next 48 hours, we're offering a lifetime 50% discount on our all access plan featuring the Podcast and Patreon sponsorship directories.
