We are super excited to be featured in Product Hunt and would like to get your feedback on Volterman.
It all started two years ago when our CTO @azat_tovmasyan lost his wallet for the third time. This time causing more discomfort and harm than ever. He was unable to find a wallet that simply can’t be lost, so he decided to make it himself.
After two years of development and testing, Volterman is not only impossible to lose, but it has some other handy features as well. While being slim and lightweight (120g) it has:
- Built-in Powerbank (2,000-5,000 mAH)
- Distance Alarm System
- Global GPS Tracking System
- Worldwide WiFi Hotspot
- Thief Detection Camera (yes :) it activates in a lost mode and takes a picture of anyone opening the wallet.
We are successfully crowdfunding it on Indiegogo (540%) and are ready to deliver in December as we are in prototype stage.

At first I thought that the functions of this device are pretty random, but I guess I can see the line of thinking here: «Uh, let's make a wallet with a camera and GPS that would track thieves down and send coordinates via 3G! Also, while we're on it, let's make additional use of the battery (→ powerbank) and 3G (→ paid? Wi-Fi) so it has a lot of functions». Still seems like an overkill to me though.
@_iamale_ the sequence of functionality was a little different :) We didn't aim to put as many functions as we could, instead, we thought of the problems people face, that it could solve. WiFi is the only paid option. It's prepaid (without any monthly fees and subscriptions). You need to refill your balance as much as you need and enjoy having cheap internet when traveling.
@_iamale_ in most of the countries the cost of data is $15 for 1GB (very competitive compared to roaming prices)
This is very cool! Although, after last week all my power banks were confiscated at the airport due to new security rules (when coming back from Turkey) I don't think I would ever dare to take it with me when travelling... :(

I've checked out many smart wallets which was announced during last couple of years, but this one so far seems the best fir for me.
First of all guys, you have a great design! The previous ones, had design of cheap and fake thing, for which you pay $100 or more. That was reeealy frustrating. This one, is beautiful, even without smart functions.
Also I really liked the idea of Powerbank, I bought a slim powerbank last year, but it is still a problem to find that "extra" pocket to keep it always with me. So pb built in a wallet sounds great!
What sounds too much for me, is a wifi hotspot, though I can understand that for some people it could be a good solution, if they don't want to spend time on each visit to a new county to buy a sim card.

Can it charge 3 phones simultaneously?
@khanum_nikoghosyan no, it can charge two :) one with a cord, the other one wirelessly, put on the wallet

This seems like a great product, however, one thing you neglected to mention, perhaps intentionally, is the actual pricing of the Wifi Hotspot feature. You said only "The internet cost is up to 3 times cheaper than roaming", which does not help me determine the exact cost of the service. A little clarification on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
the product solves some practical problems for people who are always on-the-go. highly recommended
