How does this compare to imigix? It's worked well for us at Product Hunt.
Nico Bistolfi
Hi @rrhoover, that's a great question and people ask that very often, we compare Piio against using traditional API services and standard solutions for responsive websites on this blog post: http://bit.ly/2lBqh8U TL;DR; Piio automatically generates the images for the different screen sizes and browsers. Result: Single point of integration, less code and no maintenance required.
Daniel Kempe
Hi again @nicolasbistolfi - will this work within Webflow???
Nico Bistolfi
Hi @danielkempe, so to be honest, I'm not sure. If you can integrate a 3rd party lazy loading library, then yes, it'll work. I would love to help you through the process and find out how Piio can work on Webflow, contact me at nico@piio.co and I'll assist you with the integration, what do you think?
Creager
Love the product, love the team that's building it—congratulations on the launch! Can't wait to see where you take Piio next :)
Nico Bistolfi
@matt_creager thanks! You and the Manifold team have been of great help for us
Justin Graside

I used it for several websites and the improvement was evident, I could deliver a quick win for my team... and without spending time from our technical team. Win - win

Pros:

Powerfull and super easy to install

Cons:

I don't like birds so much

Jacqueline von Tesmar
Hey @nicolasbistolfi, @sgarciadarosa & @martingiura, Can you tell us what makes your product stand out from the rest?
Nico Bistolfi
Hi @jacqvon, we're the only image optimization service that can automatically resize and optimize images based on the element size and that inherits CSS behavior (it also works for background images). That means that you don't need to learn about using query parameters, communicating with the API or changing the storage of your images. There are only 2 steps to integrate Piio: 1 - Copy the JS provided for your domain into your HTML 2 - Change your <img src="..." /> elements to <img data-piio="..." /> Done!
Kevin Natanzon
Vouch for this amazing team! Congratulations @nicolasbistolfi! Will definitely give it a try.
Nico Bistolfi
@kevinnatanzon thanks! We still need to work on our secret mobile SDK for you guys :)

Hello Hunters, 🎯 We're happy to announce our official launch, I personally have been working around web technologies and performance for the last 14 years. I've seen how 10 years ago JavaScript was a pain for every developer, IE dominated the market, Firebug was the only developer tool and Chrome didn't exist, let's not even talk about tools like MailChimp or Stripe. Things have changed a lot, but not for storage or content delivery 🤔, so our mission it's to create that simplicity in the content industry, starting with Image Optimization. Piio is built for developers by developers 👾 and we wanted to make it as simple as possible, the best idea we had it was to make a service that covers every angle of image optimization with a simple integration like any lazy loading library. Hope you can take a look at what we did and leave us your feedback 😻 ...also, there's a special *** 20% lifetime discount *** for all the hunters today!

@nicolasbistolfi Excellent product. Couple of thoughts if you are doing B2B sales : a) Reach out to companies who are hiring for product managers. Since they are investing in product by hiring one, they will be willing to buy a product like yours. b) Reach out to newly funded companies. They will be interested to optimise their website.
Nico Bistolfi
Thanks @shreyaa_ratra ! We never thought about the first option, but it makes a lot of sense.
Kevin Vandenborne
I'm interested in using this but I have some questions: - On the pricing page it says "Up to 10,000 MAU", what does MAU stand for? - You have to include "//piio.co/demo/piio.min.js", what's with the "demo"?
Martin Giura
Hi @veloxy, - MAU is the same as Monthly Active Users = Monthly Unique visitors your website has. - When you register for a Piio account, it gives you a special code, without the demo. :) Please write to us anytime, happy to help! :)
Marcelo Kronfeld

Using it for our Saas with awesome results!

Pros:

Really easy to integrate and awesome results!

Cons:

None

Bruno Wong
How does Piio work with retina screens?
Martin Giura
Hi @bruno_wong, great question! our library understands the device and the DPR of that device, inherits the CSS options from your website and renders a pixel perfect image for that device in real time. There's no need to update your code or change anything in your account to support new resolutions or new high-DPR devices. Please let me know if there is any other question. :)
Jan Zabala
Hi, im just curious, we’re using flywheel’s CDN as well as image compression plugin, how does this work with them? Can i opt out of flywheel’s CDN which is $10 a month compared to this only half a price. Can you please enlighten me.
Martin Giura
Hi @boynextrawr, you are using wordpress right? We have an available beta plugin for Wordpress. You can write me to martin at piio dot co and I could give it to you to try and compare results.
Nishchit Dhanani
That's great idea, one question, are you optimizing the image with keeping the same quality while degrading in size?
Martin Giura
Hi @nishchit_dhanani, Piio understands what's happening on the HTML and display of each customer and according to the device and browser generates an image in the exact size of the container and in the best format for that browser. This means if you are using a mobile phone with Chrome, Piio will generate an image in Webp format and resized according to the display and size of the container in the HTML. For this reason Piio generates a Pixel-Perfect image. If you are using an iphone with Safari, it will generate an image in JPEG2. All of this with no visual loss to the viewer.
Diego Ernst
Awesome product! Is there an API to integrate with?
Nico Bistolfi
Hi @dernst, since you're an iOS developer we do have an API in case you want to integrate this on a mobile app, but if you want to use Piio on a website, we recommend to use our JS Library to integrate Piio.
Raúl Garreta

When you find a tool that provides so much value with such a low investment, magic happens. Probably working on image optimization for websites is fun for developers from the technical standpoint. But when you're running a company, you just have to move fast and get the best and fastest product to solve your problems. That's the case with image optimization/delivery and Piio. A no brainer

Pros:

You can instantly reduce loading times and improve image quality on your website by with just pasting a few lines of code. Love it :)

Cons:

None yet.

Mauricio Etcheverry

At YoReparo.com we implemented Piio to speed up our site by serving real-time optimized images to our users.

We print 10 million pages each month.

It was very easy to integrate and all our conversion rates are going up since then

Pros:

Hassle-free integration and you are ready to serve optimized images to every device.

Cons:

None

Peter Bauer
Awesome product. Can you guys please collab with wp rocket? https://wp-rocket.me :)
Martin Giura
Hi @peter_bauer, very cool, is this your project? Would love to exchange ideas. You can write me to martin at piio dot co
Ismael Pisano

I've tried Piio at http://nomada.uy for more than a month and it had great impact. Users wait less for the page to fully load so the returning visitors got increased. The out-of-the-box resize feature also helped us in mobile experience and we didn't have to worry about making images in different sizes. The best part of this was the integration process, it took no more than 15 minutes to get it work.

Pros:

Not only great for final users but for developers to integrate

Cons:

Not a clue

Ismael Pisano
This is just great!. Congratulations
Nico Bistolfi
@cachila thank you man!
Gonzalo Rosso

I used it in many websites getting great image optimization.

Cons:

Nothing to say

Gonzalo Rosso
Congrats! Great product!
Nico Bistolfi
Thank you @gonchirosso !
