Hey Product Hunt! David here, Co-Founder and CEO of Pineapple 👋
The problem we’re solving at Pineapple is personal to me: I got a start in tech when I was 14 — I was an early member of Product Hunt’s Maker Hunt community (it’s good to be back!), obsessed with product design and startups, and hungry for anyone that would give me the opportunity to work on their team. When I stumbled across Intercom, I had to hustle hard to make it in the door. With my lack of experience, a resumé wouldn’t cut it so I had to build a portfolio site to show off my (meager) work, but more importantly, tell my personal story and show off the passion I had for design.
Old ways aren’t serving Gen Z, there’s a lack of personality and opportunity for those who need to start a network but don’t have the space to do it. Only 30% of Gen Z are on LinkedIn and there’s a great divide on accessibility and making valuable connections.
There’s a huge pressure to start your professional presence whether that’s in college or in your early career. As Gen Z, we’re also multi-faceted, not limited to one label. As a generation that has day jobs, passion projects, and side gigs, we need a space that shows off all those sides of us to connect with other like-minded young professionals. Without that, a lot of doors are left unopened.
We’re building a network focused on meaningful 1-1 connections and growing community spaces (for new and existing organizations), with Insta-Story-like profiles. The early stages of your career don’t have to be as difficult as they previously were.
Pineapple is made up of spaces for founders, venture scouts, brand builders, and more.

Pineapple is one of my favorite new platforms - it’s completely rethinking the way the next generation thinks about professional growth and community in a way that’s refreshing, visual, and based in personal storytelling. Cannot not say enough good things about the Pineapple leadership team and as someone who sees thousands of consumer apps/platforms every year, this is *definitely* one to keep a close eye on. 👏🏼

HUGE fan of David, Ollie and Pineapple! David says it so well - the current professional platforms just aren't relevant for GenZ. Pineapple is where individuals can share all the things that make them great in an Insta kind of way -- from passion projects, to internships to side hustles. They can connect with like minded professionals to share their passions, work and learn more about opportunities and ways/places of work. They are just getting started and you can feel how different the community is as soon as you hop in!

Love it! Is it mostly focused on tech or freelance? The design looks really slick - the LinkedIn use case with the Instagram vibe. I'll check it out.

As a college student, Linkedin can be very intimidating and not suited for my generations style of networking. Pineapple is the perfect mix of getting to show off my professional skills in a creative and visual way, while showing off my personality + life outside of work!!
Their UX is amazing with the cutest branding! Def have to check them out on their socials, cutest aesthetic and they're building an amazing community on their platform
